Quote:5.1. Excessive Swearing isn't a good idea either.
There are no hard and fast rules about swearing (it is allowed, so there's no real need to self-censor); but if you start aiming those offensive words at another member; or just throw them out anywhere for no great reason; expect to be dealt with harshly. Hate speech is especially discouraged. Keep that kind of thing on the *Chans.

If you're stupid about it, yes, you can be.

and only 1 person has ever been banned for swearing

he filled an entire post with the word 'fuck'

I do try to figure out how to improve it, all the time.

Quote:this game looks like shit and seems to have no story from the screenshots and updates you've posted...

The storyline and everything else is IN the game >.> ..It's called suspense.

Quote:if you actually processed thoughts you'd see he was trying to give advice and you took umbrage to it for no apparent reason

A person doesn't have to be a dick to give advice. You can say, "Hey, your game sucks, work on it a bit." or something like that. You don't have to start saying, "oh, your game is the worst f'ing game in the whole damn world" >.>

Quote:plus you've ignored a few other posts telling you that style mixing = bad, especially in fangames

Now see, This is my 2nd Fan-Game ever. What is style mixing?

point out exactly where i said this and i will shut up.
we did tell you your game sucks, and you started moaning about it. and its nice to give people an idea what your games about, screen shots with 200 koopa's and updates saying "pokemon updates" that leads me nowhere and making me want to even try your game even less.
Well when I say updates..It's only a brief discription because I assume if that person is reading the update, they have already seen the previous version. As in, actually played it. And if they haven't, they can read it and think, "oh awesome, pokemon?"
Understand?

Quote:point out exactly where i said this and i will shut up
ok, ok..I was wrong..but you still don't have to rude >.>
yeah okay

meanwhile over here, in the world where people don't make stuff up to help make a point
Cotycrg are you ten years old?
If you can't take crits on anything you should really just get off the site. It would be better for everyone.
Honestly though..

1) Aunt, either change your name or please don't post again here. I don't like having the last post by you. That makes some people go away, especially the audience I'm trying to get.
2) What is style mixing? (I am very new to game development)

basically when you take a sprite from one game and then throw it into a fan game with a sprite from a completely different game and clash entirely with everything

example: taking a Mario & Luigi sprite and putting it into a Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past overworld
no. if your audience can't handle the word Vagina, you're obviously not catering your game to the right audience. you posted this at tsr, and tsr can help you with this more than most places on the internet, start catering your game to tsr, not to idiots who will simply lick your taint because OMG U MADE A GAEM!!!!
Who exactly is being scared off by his name? I don't think anyone who spends a decent amount of time here cares.
And style mixing is... using sprites in different styles and putting them together. Unless you're using damn similar styles it looks terrible.

I think I understand..thanks Smile

I'm getting casual gamers and teenagers. Teens from tsr(you'd be surprised how many are here), and Casual gamers from other random people browsing the forums, usually guests. Teens might not care about the language, but most casual gamers are deeply offended.

hahahahahahHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
once again..your immaturity is showing >.>
You're on the internet. Name one website where you'll never ever hear mention of a penis or a vagina.
And besides his username has nothing to do with this game you're making so why does it matter?
