....Why does it seem some people seem to think that section icons need to display the logo... when the title of the game is right there in the icon's header...

People are unimaginative.

Does it really matter? There's actually a logo with a picture, but I couldn't find one in good quality.

Yes, it does. A viewer is to be more naturally drawn to a game they've never heard of by seeing how the game looks beyond just the title screen and not just the title screen itself.
