It's no mess at all. It didn't start as DKR, Diddy came into it much later at Nintendo's request. So only Diddy is in Nintendo's pocket. Banjo and Conker now fall under Microsoft so were removed to avoid license issues. They could have possibly been in the game but it would be bad business, just how releasing a Halo game on the Wii would be.

I mentioned all of those things, though o-O

The problem comes in where Rare used to be second-party, and there hasn't been a real release on what rights were left behind after their acquisition.

Also: Halo Reach was originally going to be on Nintendo DS if my old Nintendo Powers are to be believed.
That Halo game was a hoax, I believe it turned out to be Bond hack.

Rare was second-party yes - but Nintendo never owned them. They had a large stake in the company (something like 49%) and no doubt funded a lot of the stuff they did. But they were never owned by Nintendo.

And that's the important thing to remember. Banjo, TipTop, Conker - Nintendo never had any long-term rights to them. If Rare had tried to make a Conker game on something else they would probably be legally entitled to BUT then Nintendo would have pulled the funding and it would have made their relationship bad and hurt Rare a lot financially (and the funding given for the Conker's BFD more than likely had a: By accepting our money no one gets Conker for 4 years or something clause).

Basically Rare owns everything but Diddy when it comes to DK:R as there is no reason why this would not be the case.
If Sonic & Sega All-Stars became Mario with Sonic & The Sage All-Stars the only thing Nintendo would own would be Mario.

Anyway - my point isn't that your wrong or right - but just that you had no real facts. I liked your writing style, it was a fun read so I'm not trying to dump on you here and yes, I know it's only a fun little blog but it started off asking all these questions and then just kind of ended with "I don't know" - it's like if on Matrix he'd taken the other pill.

It's more like a Hitchcock ending, actually.

"Do they live?" Nobody knows Surprise

Edit: You liked my style?
Just finished Pokemon Black. The storyline bit, that is. It looks like it has a lot of post-main-story stuff though, not to mention finishing the Pokedex, so that's awesome.
Playing The World Ends With You again, and my life has once again just become cryin' about Sanae Hanekoma tbh.
Yeah Kriven your style had a nice flow to it, it's nice when you can tell a writer has a genuine enthusiasm about what they are writing about.

As for what I'm playing: Metal Gear Rising still (now on Very Hard), got to the final boss and... man, I dunno if I'm going to complete it...

Finally. Now I never have to do this stupid gnome course again.
Completed Rising on Very Hard. Might start Revengence mode though the first mission is an arse as you can't regain health...

Think I'll pick up Tomb Raider next pay day.
Fire Emblem Awakening is so boss. I like it so much I paid for some dlc. It constantly spoils itself though, that is unless the premonition in the opening DOESN'T happen the way it does.
Finally beat Pokemon Black 2. It was meh. Now I'm playing Shining Force GBA again. I recently picked up both Parasite Eve games, so I'm thinking about giving them a whirl soon.

That's called an opinion Wink

Anyway, I've been catching a bunch of previous gen Pokemon in Black. I got most of them via the Super Rod (Poliwhirl, Horsea, etc), but just yesterday I also found an Exeggcute in some long grass. Also my highest level Pokemon is now a Feebas which I caught at level 57. It only knows 3 moves, one of them being Splash Tongue
