I think he first uses a tablet to do the first lineart and then he gets the mouse and does his magic. Great sprites1up. Waiting for montblac to be finish so I can love him too. The only promblem I have with your sprites is that the second creature (i forgote the name of the specie) feet don't actually look like feet but it's still incredible so keep it like it is the feet wouldn't do much better to something that's complete awesome.

record yourself pixeling or something?
I'd like to see your technique in action. I especially like how you start out with the insanely jagged lineart but then it turns into something great.

OH god i would love to watch that, but then his spriting techniques would be revealed dont want noobs cramping his style.
Spriting is not about technique, its about experience. Watching him wouldn't make you as good as him. It would be interesting, but I doubt you would improve much.

theyre stick figures. if he needs a tablet for any part of any sprite, thatd be pathetic.

1up if you use a tablet im not ur friend anymore! >: (
i

wow

have you guys really never seen this technique in use before? nearly everyone who has even a shred of talent has tried this at one point

step 1. use your MOUSE to sketch in some lines. again, use your MOUSE to sketch in some lines.
step 2. use your MOUSE to sketch in some more details. again, MOUSE, details
step 3. clean up the lines you created with your MOUSE
step 4. add color with your MOUSE
That was easy. Nice sprites. Loving all of them. I can only say the thing about the feet and that's it.
I sometimes use a tablet for larger stuff but never sprites this size.

Looks great btw, man :>
I meant a tablet for you know a sketch of it. I though many people did that. Then again I'm almost everytime wrong.
People would probably draw a paper a sketch since paper and pencil work better as sketches, a tablet is an all-around utensil for art.

Anyways, good job 1up.
i'll have to redo hurdy's head/face after this one, he looks so bad compared to montblanc now
[Image: ffta2group.png]
removed the little necklace thing he has for now because it was in the way when i was redoing the head
Heart hurdy.

anxiously awaiting al-cid. because, y'know, fucking awesome personified.

STOP BEING SUCH A DICK MONTBLANC GOD DAMN

i've had to redo his hair and face so many times
before you continue him, his (its?) right arm looks longer than his left arm.

Yeah, I scan/trace over in Photoshop my pencil drawings. For me form/proportion/composition comes out better by hand. But as you can clearly see, 1up's way works too, especially for his style of thin stringy limbs.

Anyways, man, keep up the good work. Maybe give a shot at making a general class or species, like Viera or Bangaa or Gria.
montblanc sprite looks nothing like montblanc but im tired of working on him/might come back to it later
[Image: ffta2group.png]
only have Al-Cid, Penelo, and Ewen next

and maybe a gria

but probably not
