Plain recolor. Try making Flying Mario from scratch (not using existing sprites).

Take Photoshop... Select bucket tool... Click contigous (Something like this) and paint...
Recolor in 5 mins...

DON'T DO RECOLOURS AS IT IS USELESS AND REQUIRES 0 TALENT!
