Umm.... Then i made this singer, but i´ve spent hours trying to animate her. I CAN´T animate her at ALL!
No sucess what-so-ever... So, i want some advice, mm-kay? Thank yew!

i made some (crappy, 30 secs drawing) of what her position is supposed to be, like romeo in juliet´s window, but standing up.

C+C please, means please comment, right?
Aside from the BMP issue, I do have to say, it looks pretty good. I do think that retracting the right arm (left on the sprite) would work a bit better in the context of a singer, unless you actually you want it to look like she's holding both arms up (with the right arm slightly lowered), in which case the hand should be opened. The line-art implies that the hand should be on her chest though.

Oh, and the split could be moved a slight bit to the left (your left, not her).
What? BMP is bad for sprites too? I am sorry, i didn´t knew '_' i thought only JPG and GIF were bad......
Well, i am not an native englidh speaker, so... please, could you clarify what you said?
I understood retracting her right arm, but what is a split?
The split in her dress that is.

And BMP isn't that bad for sprites. Hecks, GIF also isn't bad, they just aren't really recommended. BMP files often take too much disc space, at least more than for example GIF files or even JPEG files. GIF files only have a color limit of 256 colors (although that's actually not that big an issue, seeing as good sprites and sheets don't exceed this limit). The best option though is PNG, although it tends to bring bigger file sizes with palettes, and messes up palette color order.
Well, ok, i moved the split both sides, and i also messed a little with the outline. i added some tones in the background, so you know how it´ll look in game. thanks, i´ve done it right?

Also, it is now a PNG Wink
The best animation so far:

she is standing still. but all nervous and like jumping.

i tried a swapping facing side animation. baad. meh.
Oh for crying out loud, at least there could be a little bit more feedback.

Anyway, there's something awkward about the arms on the animation frames, but I can't really put my finger on it. I might try to animate them later though.
Ok, thanks... i felt like that too, about the arms, but..... i dunno what is it.

what did you mean with "Oh for crying out loud, at least there could be a little bit more feedback."?

Sorry for being so ignorant. i didn´t got it. i NEVER get it.
