Had y'all VG Resource community members ever played a video game one time, and experienced a moment that either:

  1. Made you cry out "What The Fuck????"
  2. Caught you by surprise WITHOUT you expecting it.

If so, tell us those WTF/Surprising moments in this thread. I'll start off with some of mine:
  • I got to Red in Pokémon Gold version for the 1st time, and his freaking team's levels ranged from levels 73 to 81!
  • Got killed in Oil Ocean Zone Act 2 as Knuckles after climbing up to a platform with another one a few feet above it in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (HD android port).
  • Recently, I was playing SNK vs. Capcom: Match of the Millennium as Iori Yagami, and discovering that his rival in the game is freaking Akuma!
Cuphead's "Random Mug Glitch" in Dijimmi the Great's stage is a pretty surprising moment.

(It's around the 1:10 mark.)
I will forever remember Hollow Knight where I fell into deepest and it was dark and scary with bugs crawling on the screen. I wasn't expecting such a suspenseful and anxiety ridden moment. No longer having a map, not sure where the next save space was. It was rad as well.
Recently, I attempted a Pacifist run of the original Super Mario Bros. 1 via the Nintendo Switch [NES] app, and exactly right near the end of World 2-1*, I screwed up by stomping on a damn green koopa troopa by freaking accident. >_<"

*Before y'all ask, no! I DIDN'T use the Warp Zone in World 1-2.
Recently, I signed in to the (Nintendo) Gacha game, Dragalia Lost, and I realized that I'm now the Leader of the alliance I'm a member of. That's very surprising!

When I played Devil May Cry 1 back in 2014 I didn't undertand english and I was very shocked to see that girl betrayed the main character. (and in the hardest boss in the game)
Recently, I was playing Paper Mario in a No Hammer, No rest, No Life Shroom run, and before I finished chapter 1, I knocked the Koopa Bros. tower phase (second time they form the tower phase) via a body slam, and a perfectly timed jump command. I didn't even know you can knock the Chapter 1 boss out of the tower phase with a perfectly timed jump command back then... You learn something new about your favorite game from childhood every day. ^^"
Wanna hear a big WTF moment I had with a (Nintendo) gacha game? In Dragalia Lost, later near the end of chapter 21 of the main story mode, there is mentions of a demon character named, you wouldn't believe it, Satan!
Recently, I was playing Mortal Kombat Trilogy Extended with my 8bitdo arcade stick as Raiden, and the moment I reach MK1 Shang Tsung, the game just muted and I COULDN'T move my character with my arcade stick. Surprise
Yesterday, I was playing the mobile phone/tablet gacha game from (Nintendo), Dragalia Lost, and I got the 5* dragon, Liger, from a tenfold summon. I was so excited to unbind Liger for the 5th and FINAL time and be done with 1 of the light elemental dragon unbinding, but I was surprised and cried out "WTF???" that you can't unbind 5* dragons with duplicates. You can only unbind 5* dragons if you have 50 of the Liger's essence items. How am I supposed to know that? >: U
Bump!

I was playing Bomberman '94 on my WiiU Virtual Console earlier this afternoon, and got game ended at the 3rd boss of the game and tried to enter the 4-digit password to start where I got game ended (which is 3352, might be wrong), but accidently entered 3353 as my password. But fortunately for me, the password have me start at World 4-4. Y'all can say it's "a Happy WTF moment". ^^
