Looks fine, I just think you should add outlines.
I honestly think they look better without outlines.
You need some shading, a different bg color would me nice, and just try the outlines and if sucks then just go back to n outlines.
That's the thing, I've already tried it with an outline before anyone mentioned it.
Did a very quick outlining of Max and I think the outlines look fine.
