Hey guys I'm trying to rip models from https://www.chibify.com/ . They let you customize and make a 3D character, and I'd like to be able to rip the model so I can look at it in other 3D programs and possibly in a small personal project of mine. The owner's of the site have said that they might add the ability to download the model as an STL file at some point, but only if enought people ask for it and even then who knows when that will happen.

So knowing that the owners of the site aren't completely against the idea of people downloading the models, can anyone here help me figure out how I can rip them so that I can 'download' them please?

I tried using Ninjaripper but I never got any files, but I've also never used Ninja ripper so it's hard to say if I was doing it right or not.

I'd be happy to rip the model designs I want myself, I just am struggling and wouldn't mind some help figuring out how to do that.

Thanks friends!
Hiya Zerox!

According to some older documentation found in this video, Sky Castle uses three.js (an in-browser engine for 3D models) for their models.
However, it seems the structure of the Chibify and HeroForge websites have changed, and the JavaScript that fetches and renders the models is much more complex than before and, therefore, harder to read.

I did some more digging and the models seem to be stored in .ckb files whenever downloaded from the source; haven't quite figured those out yet, but I'll see if I can find anything else about 'em.
I'd also give this XeNTaX thread a look, it's a bit hard to read (or rather, hard to bear) but it could give some insight on how to get the models; it seems likes there's a member that knows how to do it.

I'll come back to this if I can figure out anything else, but I hope that this is a push in the right direction for ya!

Cool thanks for helping with some sort of starting point! I'll look more from there and maybe in time they'll just add the option to download the model as they have said they're considering.
