Hello.

so recently, I've been trying to rip Mario Sunshine models. I'm looking specifically for the boos / king boo, but I can't seem to find them. Does anyone know the name for them or where to find them?

and one more thing. Is there a program to extract the .szs files sunshine has? it would help a lot. thanks!
Hi Doggo! While I'm not sure where one would find those models, I do know the programs you'd need to use to extract from .szs files: I'd recommend szstools from the following website, as it contains all of the necessary software to help you open those files: http://www.amnoid.de/gc/ . Also, I thought this tutorial on modding SMS might help out a bit (it includes how to extract from .szs files).

Hope this helps, cheers!

Ooh! I see. Thanks, you two completely solved my problem. I love this site
Uh oh, looks like I ran into another problem... Whilst extracting the .szs it unveiled a .bin file. I have no idea what that is or how to open it and all .bin opening tools I've tried haven't worked unfortunately... I'm looking for the King Boo. He's somewhere inside of these two files. https://drive.google.com/file/d/14CH3J3E...sp=sharing

All help received is very much appreciated! Thanks!
Hi again Doggo!

Quick tip for future use: I recommend looking at files you can't identify or extract in a hex editor (my personal fav being HxD) and looking at anything decipherable. That's how I found this solution for you, and it can be very useful, so I recommend doing so!

So, looking at the files in a hex editor, they contain a "RARC" header, meaning they're actually .rarc files. So, you can rename both files to have .rarc instead of .bin. From there, it's as simple as using the rarcdump.exe program included in the szstools bundle found on the site I recommended in my earlier post. Go to your command line (type "cmd" in the start menu) and change directory to wherever you've got your rarcdump.exe (for me, the command looks like "cd C:\Users\Resistiv\Downloads\szstools"). Then, put your new .rarc files in the same folder and run the following commands: "rarcdump.exe casino0.rarc", wait for it to finish, and then do "rarcdump.exe casino1.rarc". It will extract all of the files you need out into the szstools directory. And, voila, you've got your files!

If you've got anymore questions, feel free to follow up!

Hope this helps, cheers!
