I'm mostly posting this because I'm not 100% sure this will get accepted.
Could you give us some info on this? Who is this character? Can we see some official art?
http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/OVER-1
This should have all the information.
Edit: I got ninja'd!

It's OVER-1 from Rockman Xover(only released in japan so it's never called Megaman Xover)
He is literally the coolest Megaman ever
On another note, these sprites themselves are pretty much perfect as far editing the sprites to look like OVER-1 goes.

The only problem would be is that it has way too many colors and wouldn't fit with any of the other character sprites in MMXtreme. Though I really like how it looks with all the colors, so if anything, you should keep that version and add a recolor that uses the GBC color rules.
I think the title is enough for people to understand the point.
Feedback is always welcome.
Oh wow. I just noticed what i think is an error that I never noticed with Megaman before. The ladder climb sprite has his buster being used by his right hand, not his left. I figured it was just a simple mistake by you, but upon looking at some official Megaman sprites, they made the same mistake (or more likely didn't want to make a separate sprite so reused and mirrored the one). I can't believe I never noticed that before.

Sorry this isn't really pertaining to your work, but it just surprised me.

I think your sprite looks good so far. Maybe a little close to the Megaman 7 sprite, but it's fine.

Really? This reminded me more of the Wily Wars sprites, but I can see the connection.

Technically they couldn't. The NES didn't allow for so more sprites.
On the sprites where he's just standing in his neutral pose, the helmet over his front eye is about a pixel too wide. It makes the head look wonky.

Blame the spriters who did the sprites for Mega Man's soccer for that, I basically copy-pasted that head from the official sprites.
Here are some alternatives:

EDIT: Added full sheet.

Blame the original spriter? Wut? Even if you edited these you can still improve them. Or actually make something custom.
Its a unique experiment, I'll give it that. But even if all you did was copy and paste, you could do more. There could be fun with fixing up the original's mistake. Or even improve the original style to be more unique or detailed.

If it helps, technically Megaman can use the buster on both hands. Of course, that was established in Super Adventure Rockman and I believe years after the 8-Bit games.
I updated the sheet with a new helmet.
Does it look good?

In Mega Man 7 he CAN use it while holding the Proto Shield. So it makes sense.
It also makes sense because he has to shoot from both sides of ladders too.
I'm mostly posting this because I can't think of any more punching animations.
If you need more idea, I got a couple of ideas...
  • Spinning Lariat
  • Double Fist (See Juggernaut in MvC Series)
  • Smashing Ground (See Juggernaut)
And since it is a Power Adapter, why stick with punches? You could add things like lifting things and moving them around. Or grabbing enemies to pound them or throw them. Or even the famous Hulk Sonic Boom.
