i tried getting into ripping a year ago and could never get into these forums due to screwy email not working.

now that i am finally here i hope i can get some help for a game i stumbled across recently as stated in the title.

i was looking into getting all of the CGs and character portraits w/ pieces from there, but google has failed me very hard.
so now im here, the game is on steam and on the companies own site.

(im assuming a PC game like this can have these kinds of texture rips as i spotted similar stuff ripped from the PC only game Recettear)
Can you upload some files that might contain textures? How PC games store graphics can vary per game.

ok well i took a stab in the dark on this.

it was in a folder labeled "NPC" which i assumed was the portraits of the characters and the part that make it.
not sure where the CGs would be located other than a folder labeled "Artbook" in which every folder is actually empty.
All of these files are 44 bytes in size; far too small for any image (especially portraits, which are generally quite large in file size).

There's no real way to say what files contain what for most games; a lot of it is intuitive. Larger files are more likely to contain data you're interested in, however, with the largest files (for 2D games at least) usually being music, followed by sounds/textures, and level data and other game formats being various small files after that. Also be sure to check the game executable itself; if it's larger than say 20 MB or so there may be game data packed in there as well.

Your best option if you don't really know where to look is to upload a subset of the file types that are there. If there are three main kinds of files that you notice while poking around, upload several of each of them. That way you don't have to guess as to which files contain what.

(Oh, and if there's one gigantic file way bigger than the others, that's the one you want)

Quick reference: 1GB = 1024 MB, 1 MB = 1024 KB, 1KB = 1024 bytes. You're looking for files in the MB and GB ranges (tho Rabi-Ribi is probably less than 1GB for the whole install)
i took a look through and im not seeing it, maybe you can give it a look through?

In this case, it's pack.kanobi. It looks to be compressed and/or encrypted somehow; the specifics of the format will vary based on what engine the game uses (which I'm finding very little info online about). I personally can't help much beyond here myself, as compression formats are basically magic as far as I'm concerned.
hi, I'm interested in extracting Rabi-Ribi's resources from "pack.kanobi" as well.
I especially want the in game graphics (walk, jump, etc) for all the characters.
If anyone is willing to do it in the near future, it'd definitely be appreciated.
