The game is now out in Europe and Japan, and I'd like some sprites from it. And also, the model for the final boss (who I will not spoil, but it is probably obvious)

I don't need it right away (or ever) but it would be nice. Thanks. Also when I get the game, I will see what I can do to help if someone can provide a tutorial. I think the game would be very similar to Dream Team to rip.
I think Ploaj is already working on it.
Also keep in mind that we won't be uploading anything to the site until after it releases in the US (scheduled for January 22 currently) as Nintendo has asked us in the past to wait until the game is available world-wide before we put up content from it.

This isn't strictly true. They asked to wait until a actually came out before we uploaded sprites from it. It leaked early online and retailers were selling it under the counter.

Is that not basically what I said? I'm not referring to sales here, just that they asked us to hold off until it was out everywhere.
Except it was a Japan exclusive Sick
I was referring to a Pokemon game, if I remember correctly, though. Certainly not a Japan-exclusive title. But regardless, I meant to imply that we were to wait until the game was out in all regions it would be released in, not necessarily in every country.
So is that a yes or no about uploading them before January 22?

... because I already submitted sprites for Project X Zone 2, and it doesn't come in the rest of the world until February  Shy

Because the game's now had its proper release in Europe (Japan's was yesterday), I'd say it's fair game to be uploaded to the site (especially since we already have PxZ2's sprites, and that's not going to be released in the US for a while). I'd say you should go for it. Tongue

(EDIT: Though it's definitely up to Dazz since he's the main man.)
(EDIT 2: One for, one against. Dazz? What do you think?)
As far as I'm concerned, it's a no until after it's out everywhere. The same should be true of Project X Zone 2, though we won't remove anything already approved. As a general rule of thumb though, especially with Nintendo games, the game should be released in all planned markets before being uploaded here.
I mean, it's out in Europe. The site is technically European. You've waited until your own release date.
I'd say yes. Again, if the developers have an issue they will ask us to remove the content. Additionally, the game is released in Europe. The content won't exactly be spoilers not available on other English speaking websites.
Except that this is a Nintendo game and past practice shows that they want the game released in all markets first. Maybe the won't care but I think we should respect their wishes without forcing them to ask us first. It's much better to not draw attention and also to stay on their good side than it is to get a few more days worth of hits on new content.
I don't understand the controversy all of a sudden. The game is officially out. It's fair game. It's not like it leaked two months early and we're ripping it.
Because Nintendo has, specifically, in the past, requested we remove content until the game came out in all markets. I'm pretty sure it was the newer Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games but I can't remember for sure. I'm just saying it doesn't make sense to tempt fate with Nintendo. Pretty much anything else is fair game.
