Full Version: Meta Ridley (Prime 1) ripped but no rig?

HI ery body so I after years of excruciating effort finally cracked open metroid prime's data. (thanks to some new scripts someone recently made) I was wondering though I got the model but was  disappointed to find the rig was missing. now this could be on account of me ripping it wrong or I grabbed the wrong model, but I'm still really new to the ripping game ok not new just hyper un-experienced. I'm not sure how I could share what I have so far the whole rom is gigs large so that's out of the question but actually accessing the data if you have the scripts and the ROM ripping it is a synch. 

let me know if you are interested in helping me solve this mystery. ( I know the brawl model exists, but the textures, scale, shaders, proportions, and I'm assuming the rig are of a higher caliber from hours of comparison.

wish I had more info but quick google search should lead to all the info you need (I'd use it but most of it goes over my head)

the things here are console applications so they are a little un-weildy

Love to hear what you guys think in the meantime i'll be spending a gross amount of time getting the smash 4 pikachu model animation ready.
If you are using the 3DSMax scripts, don't. Use this program instead

Get the latest version of Blender, put the iso in the same folder, and run it with a command prompt like this

hecl extract mp1.iso

I already got a couple models extracted with a lot more coming soon that I was going to upload here later.

You are officially my new favorite person does the ridley have the rig? wait just checked it does man you are amazing you did in one day what i never did in years. Thanks so much for doing this. the models resource needs more prime models. and I sent this as a pm too because I wanted to make sure you saw it. i'm so glad I made this thread now! Smug

Also out of curiosity how would you personally go about animating the wing plasma effect you know the cool passive wing effect. be fore in the the brawl one I simply animated the uv in a certain way but I'm sure there is a better way. it's cool though If not my way works it's just a bit janky.  Tongue
What I want to know is if there are people on this forum who rig for Garry's Mod.

I know random talking bush and apoc hedgie have a whole thing with this website, and the steam workshop have you heard of those two. there kinda the life blood of this site other than perdian.

I wouldn't really know how to do that but you can ask those guys in the m2k2 thread you posted about how it's actually done in the game. That could give you an idea on how you can do it.
Hello, I'm one of the developers of PathShagged and hecl, and I realize this is an old post, but I'd like to ask that you guys not use hecl to rip models and put them on here, or at least refrain from citing it as the source, as we might get a C&D for aiding copyright infringement and that would put a big cramp in our plans to reimplement the engine ;P
