This depends on who has the RomFS. I would like to, but I have no 3DS or games.

Sure do. As a general rule, any 2D graphic assets in a game count as sprites. (This doesn't include textures, which are applied on 3D surfaces.)

I see. That helps me to know. Unfortunately, I don't have access to ripping tools to get them all myself. There isn't a chance anyone else is interested and able to rip them, is there? The portraits seem like they could be mighty useful resources.
