Ok, so while this is a forum and it will always remain our primary form of communication I'd quite like to give a big skype chat group a chance. I understand this might not be to everyone's taste - getting contact notifications on discussions you aren't involved in, etc.

So, a heads up: You can set skype to not give you notifications on certain discussions. If you simply type the following into a chat box, it'll make certain things happen:

/alertsoff - turns out norifications.
/alertson Dazz - tells you whenever somebody says the word "Dazz" in the chat. Obviously this can be changed to something else!
/golive - start a voice chat. If the group has over 24 members, the call button is disabled. Typing /golive allows voice chat to be used, but be aware that if there are too many people this will probably be one hell of a noisy thing to jump into.

Or ask somebody else already in the chat to add you. As you can imagine we'll be needing some time to set this up properly so it's not going to be smooth instantly. I'll be adding chat moderators as they're needed or staff join in.
It's still possible to be kicked from the group, or made silent so you can only read messages.
Nice job Dazz, I support this fullheartedly!~
Just curious - I've been on the fence about speaking up given how the flow of conversation was going earlier:

Is the chat strictly to discuss the VG Resource, and is that being strictly enforced?
Or is it just like the IRC, where we can talk about pretty much anything our little gamer hearts desire?

I'm 98% sure the intention is that it's the latter, but just lemme know if I'm completely incorrect lol

EDIT: I assume there's one general rule in the chat - "Don't be an asshole" lmao
Pretty much anything you want. If people are discussing something though and you're clearly annoying everyone it's not unlikely you'll be kicked.

Just be nice, if you're starting arguments or really getting on people's nerves, then you're probably not going to be welcome. Simple as really.
Maybe once I have all of my irl stuff fixed I'll join

Sounds awesome!
All what I can I say now is, that the Skype Chat is a full success!
Let us pin the thread! Big Grin
Skype have made linking to the chat a lot easier. You can now join with this link:

If you have a Skype Account (which is free), and if you don't want to download anything, you can use Skype Web, though not all the features of Skype Desktop is supported Tongue
Yes, I have an account (which must be reset for the umpteenth time)

However, recent events have left this computer even more unstable and unpredictable.
Thanks for that information, but I'll still wait for if/when I can get my laptop going.

What features does the web version lack, though?
Just curious.

I believe that you can't send files. I don't remember anything else it doesn't have Tongue
I don't send files too often, except when talking to friends.
So that's not really a problem.
I can always just upload a file somewhere and send a link if necessary.
We've just opened a new room with more features than before, so we can actually set it up correctly.
