I want to try and reip some backgrounds, but there's a Black BGColor that makes things difficult.

Is there a way to change the BG Color?
Anyone? Sad
far as i know, there is not...
don't need to tell me how much that SUCKS...

so, you're trying to rip from a ds game, right?

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but have you tried "fast-ripping" , e.g., right from the rom?
I'm trying to rip backgrounds and tilesets from Super Princess Peach.

But I have trouble with that black BGColor thing. Sad

Is there a way to change it?
nope,i think you just gotta deal with that.

as i asked before, have you tried to rip straight from the rom?
it's typically faster and more complete.

it's the advised method to first attempt with ds games
How do I do that?
for starters:
http://www.vg-resource.com/thread-21436.html

you may also want to look here for most recent version of tinke, which i actually advise using
https://github.com/pleonex/tinke/releases
What is Tinke?
All of the files in the Super Princess Peach ROM are .bin files, I can't view them perfectly with Tinke. Sad
In which case, you need to talk to a hacker

We have a few of them here, you just gotta find them.

They might be able to pop one open
Try using Console Tool. In my experience, this works best with opening up .bin files on DS games specifically.
But how do I use Console Tool to view the tilesets and bgs? And how do I find the right palettes?
Go to open file and select the whole .NDS rom file. It will automatically populate all the information on the ROM.

From there you'll be able to select a .bin file, and the program will determine if there's anything in there that it can read. If it can, a + will appear, and you can open up the .bin to view the pallet and image. It's not perfect, but it's pretty easy to use.

Unfortunately while checking out my own Peach ROM so I could give you a screen shot to show what I meant, it looks like the program can't read the majority of the .bin files in the game. Sad Sorry.
Great. Console Tool's out of the question. Sad

Now how am I gonna use Tinke to view the tilesets and bgs? And how do I find the right palettes?
