So I got this game Sportsfriends the other day that's supposed to be playable with any controller. But I CANNOT get my 360 controller to work. went to download drivers the developers said I should install, now the center light does even stay on where as it did with before. I can go through steam with it, but as soon as I open up the game itself, it's like the controller doesn't even exist anymore.

Extremely frustrated and need help!
One thing you can do is use a logitech controller. They have both xbox and classic input options.
Would prefer to use the one I have rather than go out and buy new ones. The weird thing is is that my Mac recognizes it, it works in the Steam Big Picture Mode, it works with Joystick Mapper, but as soon as the game opens up, it won't recognize the controller.
Is there some setting you have to mess around with in-game?
None that I can see. PS3 controllers connect automatically, and all the developers have said to me is
"Well they worked for us, so it should work for you, download these drivers"

It's fucking annoying, I've downloaded those drivers already, and telling me it works for you helps me in no way lol.
What drivers are you using? I'm using these and have had no problems with them. If you've upgraded to Yosemite, use the 0.11 version, which works better for some reason. The center light doesn't come on but the controller works.
Can't update to Yosemite as Avid hasn't cleared it for most of their stuff, which I have to use Sad
That's the one I tried and it's hilarious, I'm using my controller with Joystick Mapper right now scrolling the internet, I can use it with Steam's big picture mode, but as soon as the game opens it says "FUCK YOUUUUUUUUU" and will only recognize PS3 controllers, despite what the developers have told me.

EDIT: I'm pretty much stuck waiting for Avid to make Pro Tools 11 compatible with Yosemite and they're taking their merry sweet time with it.
Disable Joystick Mapper maybe? It could be interfering once the game reaches out for controller input.
Oh I turn off Joystick mapper once I go to play the game, I was just noting how it works with my computer up to the point that I open up the game.
That's definitely strange. If it works everywhere else, the game sounds like it's at fault here. I'd try downgrading to 0.11 if you're using the most recent version regardless though. I'm fairly sure that won't fix it but it's worth a shot.
I'll try that, thanks for the suggestions Petie. I just love that all the developers answer back with is "Well it definitely works for us!"

That's so neat, and it's soooooo helpful to hear that it works for you.
Yeah, that's a completely worthless answer, especially from a developer.
