I left work one day and saw this...

COME ON MOVE IT UP!
Didn't get a good picture of it, but I saw a store in Pasadena that said Dr. Marbel or something along the lines, and had a picture of Dr. Mario.

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=2013...633902929f

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=2013...2ee06bbd01

...feels like I just went full circle here.

That's absolutely amazing. The fact that I can read your name on those boxes is even more hilarious.

Not gonna lie, I can understand the direction they were going for (like Nintendo's use of Mario's walk animations on their 30th anniversary stuff) but

geez, not even editing out credit tags, nice.

(also oh god, I feel like you should buy one and like, autograph it or something)

Also how did this topic go on without mention to one of the best bootlegs in bootlegging history? I don't even need to write a description - the picture speaks for itself.

I remember Ashens reviewing this thing on Youtube years ago...
I discovered my country has a brand of sauces where the mascot is a ripoff of Mario, turned into a chef named Walibi.

...

Then again, knowing the man, this may as well be another one of his personas (I mean, he's a plumber, a carpenter, a hero, a doctor, a teacher, an athlete, and probably a lot more. A chef is definitely not out of the question)
If you ask me, that mustache makes him look more like Luigi.
Alright. Let's take a look at Super Mali Bros.

First off [Image: UFam9xA.png] the Toads.

[Image: wekqZgl.png] Why do they all give the uncanny valley effect?

[Image: oSWQPjr.png] I think this hat's from Megaman but it might just be because it looks like a Metool

[Image: L7YdAyk.png] I didn't know Progressive Boink's Red Snifit Scooby Doo joke was popular in Korhina

Seriously though. What are these freaks of nature? [Image: GKiv6Cj.png]

Moving along, we have [Image: 6JDqOzo.png]... Toadsworth?

After that abomination we move on to Foreman Spike [Image: 33gCAhd.png], who's the only one who looks like whoever they're supposed to be.

Then again that might just be because his sprites aren't edited in the slightest. [Image: kS7EfqZ.png]

And now here's Shyguy/Phanto masked lady and a member of a Christan army. [Image: IPVGvTN.png]

And that's where the edits end. [Image: titf2t4.png]

No wait they're still here. [Image: ZR45PZ4.png]

[Image: H7KP4gS.png] False alarm. It's over.

Next up is Felix vs Jerry.

And yes I'm posting twice, at least I have content.

No game. I don't think that's Buster Bunny.

And that's no Montana Max.

I didn't know Felix's girlfriend was a pink version of himself.

Then again it makes more sense than [Image: IzgLdK7.png]

If you couldn't already tell, this is a romhack of Tiny Toons Adventures for the NES.

And along with other changes, Green Daffy has been replaced by

[Image: AfqmYq7.png] Woodstock from Peanuts.

First off, the graphical edits are actually pretty good

[Image: my81yds.png] Except for Giygas over here.

Also I think the carrots were replaced with fish bones.

And that's all the changes, aside from [Image: r94dT8p.png]

Next up is Pokemon Gold, for the NES.

[Image: 72sAGx3.png] A promising start

[Image: bHlPsJP.png] My favorite Pokemon characters. Pink Wooper and Pichu's decapitated head.

And we begin, with a very corrupted version of Ode to Joy playing in the background.

[Image: fgjY5zF.png] Fat kid ain't looking to good..

[Image: KX5N2Da.png] After wandering around for a while, I found an abandoned Pokeball.

[Image: z3A3DUZ.png] Oak clone you might want to get out of that text.

And then I saw a ghost [Image: hf4HWxh.png]. I looked back and it disappeared. [Image: IEFCPB6.png] So ghost.

This kid is blocking me so I'll have to go look another way. [Image: adnfnR6.png]

Because of the way the font looks, it looks like it says "Filix vs Jerry" Instead.
Other ways being "Fili%","Fili\",Fili-", and "Fili-\-".

SEGA Genesis Russian bootleg games have the greatest Game Over screens.

I dunno if this counts, but:
It's from an online game called "COS Battle (?)".
The comments on this Tweet confirm it's a bootleg mobile game. Wow, the developers are not even trying to disguise it.
And it's reminding me to buy Neptunia DVD which is on it's way next month, even though i'm not familiar with the series.

Just try and count all the copyright violations.
A bit old now, but I always found this Wario bootleg amusing:

Same with this hilariously stupid Wario mod of Kirby's Adventure some idiots were selling:

(see about one hour twelve minutes in).
