So if you're a big Smash fan, you probably thought about the ultimate Smash question(right next to "WHY IS THERE RANDOM TRIPPING!?"): which is better, Melee or Brawl?

Sure Smash 4 might blow them both out of the water, but if you had to choose, and I don't mean like "yeah this one is better because I had so much fun back in the day" no I mean which one would you actually play right now, no mods attached.

I going with some of my random pluses to see which would I pick.

Melee
+ Feels classic
+ Has a cool adventure mode
+ Gravity isn't floaty / More ground fighting (not even Smash 4 fixes this)
+ No tripping
+ Has Roy and Young Link and Pichu
+ Music is better
+ Best opening in the series, makes you want to play the game
+ Event mode is great
+ Graphic style is cool
+ Better stages
+ No stickers and fewer useless features(who plays Rotation Mode!?)
+ You have to play on a very high level to notice how bad your character really is
+ Pretty much no Loading

Brawl
+ Feel more polished
+ Adventure Mode is fun after you beat it
+ Stage Recovery is much better
+ Gameplay isn't stupid fast
+ Gameplay is easier
+ Gameplay in general is much more fun
+ Has Wario, Toon Link, and Sonic
+ Has a LOT of music
+ Opening sucks, makes you hurry and press start
+ Stadium is really great
+ Graphics style is really cool
+ Has a Stage Builder!
+ Customizable controls
+ More characters
+ Take pictures easily!
+ A lot more content
+ 2-Player Coop stuff

Melee
+++++++++++++
Brawl
++++++++++++++

I'll be playing Brawl

Brawl has better gameplay, IMO, but Melee has that irresistable GameCube aesthetic polish.

Melee can go suck it.
Do we really need this many Smash threads?

Super Resource Bros.

That should be a thing.

To be honest, I enjoy every Smash game except for the N64 one. But Melee has always been close to my heart, because it was one of my first Nintendo games, it got me into the world of Nintendo, and it helped me out through so much. Back in the 3rd and 4th grade, I always used to invite my friends over to play it, and during recess, we'd even play pretend Smash. And then during my later years in elementary, it and Double Dash were what helped me survive through two whole years of bullying.

So, as you can see, Melee is a very special game to me. Plus, I think Melee plays better than Brawl, has better balanced characters, and has a certain charm to it as well.

But at the same time, Brawl has a better choice of stages, and a better roster.

So...Why did you post this? Blank
I know this is probably goes without saying, but shouldn't we just agree that Melee and Brawl each have their own merits and consider this thread closed?
