Do you can upload the SVG of your sprites and maybe vectorize levels or animate your current sprites ? Thanks
Forgive me, Iyenal, but I don't think I quite understand what you mean. Do you mean provide you with the original files I'm working on? I can do that, but keep in mind that you're going to need Adobe Fireworks to actually use them. For "vectorizing" the levels, I guess you mean tracing over the worlds of Mario with my vector shapes, right? If that's so, then I'm not quite willing to do that because there's no practical application in my work for that (especially since I'm creating fully custom 3-D environments instead). As for sprite animation, that's what I'm working towards in my project. Big Grin

Anyway, Fawfulthegreat64, those are some good suggestions and I'll be sure to get around to them. To be honest, I was hoping to put those guys in my storyline sooner or later.

Now then, here is the next update. I went with my gut on this one and did a lot of changes, such as no longer bothering with the planned outlines I had on Mario's body. As for the new arm, I decided to go with either the middle or right variation because they offer the most versatility.

Do you can use http://firetuts.com/export-svg-with-fireworks/ plugin to export in SVG ?
For levels it's not necessary.
don't worry about me suggesting anything to do with Halo/Master Chief, or FNAF
(If I suggested anything at all!
lol)

and your stuff is still lookin' good

To be frank, I'm a little uneasy about downloading a plugin like that (especially if there's an alternate way for me to give you your SVGs). What application do you use? On this computer, I have a large collection of Adobe products (including Illustrator), so maybe I can give you a file like that?

So, anyway, have some more Kent C. Koopa progress! If there's anything that needs changing before I create the other arm and texture some parts, I insist that you let me know.

By the way, the thought of thickening some of the Koopa head outlines came to my mind recently. What do you think? The top picture contains the thicker outlines, while the bottom is there for comparison.

I have Adobe Illustrator CS6, so it could work if you export from Fireworks to Illustrator.
I understand that installing plugins is not easy, I apologize for the disruption.
Just a preference, if you can export to something an older version of those supports, that'd be nice. The highest my adobe utilities go is CS3. Flash is CS5.5 (well, if my desktop hadn't crashed...) Just something to consider.

Also, I am trying to get in the habit of using Inkscape when I come across .svg's
That said, if you can make one fully supported by it, also, might be a good idea.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

Back to the art, itself: still looking good!

Hey, your "disruption" not a big deal. In any case, here is a sample file. I think I'll give you the full files once the characters are fully ready.

By the way, I didn't texture these parts due to exporting glitches, so you're going to need this, too.

EDIT: As for you, DarkGrievous, I didn't see your post initially. In any case, I'll try to export the files into something you'll have an easier time using in the future.
if i'm the only one who might use those particular versions or programs, don't worry about it too much.

i currently am not necessarily interested in having the files, myself. I just don't have the disk space, and i suck with vector artwork atm.

i was more suggesting that because it is possible others are out there in the same boat. as a rule, supporting inkscape prob is a good idea, though, pretty sure lotsa people use it.
Inkscape uses the SVG format, right?

Anyway, I don't mind exporting the files to support older applications. I could imagine it's a simple as just selecting that option from the menu or something.

As for your current skills in vector art, I'm more than willing to give you pointers on how to improve yourself in that area. Wink
yep

Adobe has a tendency to implement 50% legacy format support. The newer versions will read files with old versions, but won't save them as old versions. But, .svg might be a more forgiving format, especially since Adobe doesn't own it. (and that it doesn't update quite as much, iirc)

cool!
@DarkGrievous7145, I have and use Inkscape also.
But if you want, Microsoft Expression Design 4 can import Adobe Illustrator file.
ok
and... Don't think I have that program...
Just a small update this time, guys. Besides the fact that I came down with a nasty cold, a fair amount of my time is spent fixing up UVs for Quest 64 models. Luckily, I think it'll pay off soon because it'll lead to another project or two I'm currently cooking up! Wink

Is it just me, or do those new arms need rescaling? To me, the arm that now holds the lantern looks smaller than it should be.
No I think the arms are scaled correctly, but the right foot (in the user view) may need to be more small in the Y axis.
