UPDATE: Outshaft is having a character design contest! See info below.

The character to be designed:
“An Asian American girl who leads a group of rebels. They fight for good, but use the most questionable methods. The design is fairly free enough, but the character’s personality is a little tomboyish and sort of a loner.”

Winner gets their concept used in game and special credits. All others will have their art showcased in the game as well, but not as official character art.

Rules: Contest will be from September 21-October 5. Nothing graphic, of course. Minimum clothing is something that's just non revealing. PG-13 at the most. No obscenity, goth or gore content. The character is 20, and she should look that way. That is all.

Just send a message in here say you'd like to join, and we'll add you!

A minor update.
I think you should test the outlined and unoutlined versions side-by-side against a 3D backdrop to see which one looks better. I think the outlines might help them to stand out, but without them could make them feel more 3D in a way. Maybe you could use pixel shading to make the outlines optional, too.

Minor update. Again. Where is Alex so quick to hurry to?

After one year of merely levitating off the ground, Alex decided to use his legs for once.
Oooh, I like the look of this! Kinda makes me think of Doom, but with a newer rendering system. I do wonder about the camera movement, though. Is it at fixed angles on a path? Or is it just the way he's moving that makes it look like it's trying awkwardly to keep its distance?
