the monster encased in ice totally doesn't look like ice then. I think that in this sprite, you should shrink the enemy in order to enhance readability of the ice.

When making pixelart, you should focus on the idea, the situation going on. And while shrinking the character doesn't seem accurate, the fact that the enemy is supposed to be encased in ice is the key point here.

I'll be honest and say that I'm not too good at explaining the basics of how to ice, so I'll just drop this edit here

It's probably different from the style you're doing, but my focus was to make the ice more "icy". I think you can get an idea or two with my edit

i think these are pretty ok as far as sprites of kind of uncollected things go but i

what i want to see from you, i think - your krawow sprite is pretty good but the seams of your ability show more on waddle dee. i would like to see you try something with more defined interlocking shapes, like a person or a statue or complicated architecture or something to really get a feel for what you're good at.
Current Version, might be the final as I am satisfied with it.

And Skeleton, my level has always been mediocre at best.

Keep in mind some of these are pretty old (like 1998-1999 old) when most spriting places were MUGEN related forums. So a lot these are basic edits, frankensteins, shitty recolors, etc, etc, etc.

I think I got a good palette for the Oracles set.

From my point of view, everything on Vitreous looks fine.

I've been working on it all day, making the iris bigger and redoing the slime opening parts. Still debating on whether to make the slime parts background or editing it down to 3 colors as a sprite. I might add veins to the sclera, just to make it less empty. Still working on the color scheme too.

This is close to final, still figuring what to do for the lightning attack. And to do a basic boss room for it, would need a lot of work since no Gameboy boss has a slimy room to work with.

Best idea I came up with to make a room look slimy.
Slime looks perfect =)
Not set on the background palette for it (feels too off for me) and I'm gonna make more floor pattern tiles so it can be customized however one feels.
Sounds nice. I would also include the idea-to-zeta sprites on the final sheet for people who want to tinker about it.
I'll have to rename Kholdstare Idea to Initial Idea because no one know what it means (that design came up when I working on Kholdstare).

I couldn't think of a way to actualize the lightning attack so it shoots an exploding fireball now. Also I increased the size of the pupil.
