She might have her own reasons aside from "action figures or niche hobby stuff" (because we do have lots, just very little of Anime/Japanese kinds), though.
I'm not saying the US is awful (because I don't think that), but it's very possible there's more to it than the attractions.

anyway
I know this sounds incredible touristy and weaboo, but I could totally see myself living in Japan (Tokyo in particular). City-like, with actual mountains! Tolerable weather! Everything is so clean! The culture there is so much more group oriented--I seriously want to spend at LEAST a semester there for college.
Honestly it's been a lot more eye opening, for me at least. It's the first time I've really left my home country, and it makes the outside seem less alien.
I was a little worried about leaving for college (especially because I'd like to go out of state), but this has made me feel a lot better.

Travel is exciting!

also you are entitled to your opinion but I don't think you can measure country stupidity from the lack of action figures or niche hobby stuff

Sorry for being blunt and serious in a probably joke post but it's kinda shitty to say that nonetheless

Oh. Sorry.

I wish I could visit a foreign country. E-Man went to France, you went to Japan, and I'm still stuck here in stupid-ass America.

Come now, Mystie. America isn't all that bad. At least you are able to understand the language and you can get all the brands you trust. Also, everthing stays up so late, so you can shop for as long as you like! Besides, given the chance, I would happily live in the U.S. of A over almost anywhere in Europe (except maybe northenr or central France, the UK, or Germany).

That sounds like a good idea, really. I wouldn't mind tossing a few shrimps onto a burger to have a surf 'n' turf meal.

Speaking of McDonalds, I like how the restaurants in other country have at least one additional choice on their menus that isn't the typical burgers and fries. When I lived in Italy in the first half of 2006, one of the first things I ate there was fried bree cheese that tasted so good! Here in the Netherlands, I am able to buy shrimp and I took my first look at a certain fast food mascot that I'm sorry McDonalds of America sent on you guys state side back in May.

Yeah, you have a point.

『覚悟』

(I would actually want that Abbacio though so sexy)
Ahhh Nichijou, I'd love to have one myself.
I assume they're in japanese so you can't read em but it's still a cool collectors item.
Well I've taken 5 years of Japanese, so although my grasp on Kanji/slang isn't perfect, I can understand a good 60-70% C :

まじですか?!
そうだよ!
I mean I'm not exactly fluent, but I was able to hold converstations, with a few mess ups here and there.

My homestay family didn't speak english! It was pretty awesome to be able to talk with them, because even if I didn't get every little nuance, I was able to understand the jist and they seemed to understand what I was saying `u`
いつか私も日本に旅行したいよ
I've never been outside of my own country, but it looks like a lot of fun.

I may love my country, but I want to at least visit places like Ireland and Argentina someday.
