level editors are so boring to make

There's a reason not many games have them. They're not only boring, but exponentially more difficult as the game gets more complex. Most games have level editing tools, so the designers don't have to work directly in the engine, but those are often far too complicated to release as part of the game.

um that is not what i meant in my post  its a resource management/building game not a level editor

I don't think Kitsu was particularly talking about your post.
So I was just reading gamasutra articles and I found out that I was eligible to get Unreal Engine 4 for free thanks to GitHub. They have student discounts for coders. I won't be using it right now, but I feel like one of the cool kids for having it.

I have it, but I'm paying their subscription. As engines go, it's pretty cheap.
Yea, 19 a month ain't so bad, especially if you're developing actively.
So this is a thread for developers? Well I wouldn't call myself a developer yet, but I do plan on making a game called Crumb's Big Adventure for the OUYA.
Oh wow, I thought OUYA was dead. In any case, it's never too soon to start developing. If all you can do is come up with ideas right now, write them down and start learning how to code.
Well there's a bit of a problem. My computer's hard drive had malfunctioned 2 years ago. All I can do is draw concept art and give out ideas. Sad
Oh, yea, that is indeed a problem.... Hopefully, you can get your hands on a new comp (or hard drive) soon, after waiting 2 years.
Although I do do sprites at school...during free time. But I don't have a flash drive for it so...yeah. Although I would like some tips on these game thingies. Like if I work together with a group, how can I send them money. Or how can I add shading to sprites?
As far as I know, the most effective way to send money is with Pay Pal. As for shading, it requires a good amount of knowledge on how to make shades darker with appealing contrast and where exactly the shading should go. Shading in general is very hard to master, so what I would suggest is create some sprites and apply some shading to them for practice. We'll help you out if we notice anything off about your shading.

There's nothing much to show now.  However, since I've already got the basics of the engine down, adding more features and quirks should be smooth sailing from this point on.

People do still like Mario RPGs nowadays, right? Also, Ridge Troopa's custom Superstar Saga-styled sprites oughta be put to good use.
