I have a complaint about the new and improved icons. Although they're new and dandy, (And makes games infinitely more recognizable) I would VERY much like for icons to be more general public oriented. As in: I don't want random hentai/other perv naked crap while searching for honest Kirby/Digimon sprites and the like.

Example:

[attachment=4413]

^That there is great.

[attachment=4414]

^That there is revolting. (And also sexually sexist)

Thank you for your time.
*sigh*
Disagree. There are plenty of console games that skirt the naughty/x rated line and plenty of PC games that cross it. You did not design these games. You cannot order the designers of these games to go to hell because they did something that offends you. You should not attempt to silence the designers of these games because other people will encounter their creations which offend you. Yes there is some truly nasty stuff out there but putting a happy little mask over it or refusing to acknowledge it won't make it cease to exist. Besides, I'm sure the mods and admins won't post something they don't deem appropriate, but in the end it's their call not yours.
Derahex is talking about the icons, not the games themselves. And he has a point, some people will likely not want to see such content while they're browsing around the site, unless of course they're looking for those specific games. Children might also be looking for sprites from games they play, and it would probably be a good idea if such icons couldn't accidentally be seen by them. I'm sure that it's possible to make a less suggestive game icon for most of these kinds of games, if not all of them.

Sheet icons aren't as big an issue, you won't see them unless you go into the game's page (or they happen to come up in a search, but that shouldn't happen often). And besides, some sheets might not contain any non-adult content. I do think the game icons should be changed though.

It is of course ultimately the staff's decision, that's just my two cents on the subject.
Yeah, I've silently felt the same way for a while now. More so since the new game icon revamp. : X
Well at least the Komaful icon's better than it was before.

File any additional complaints here and I'll see about making alternative ones soon.

I'd just like to point out that, no, this is not sexist. It is sexual, but it is not sexist.

I appreciate your comments, and we'll take any requests like this to heart for changes.

Honestly, I think we should have a system like - a different-color icon border with an "NSFW" warning in its title, that's the same color among all the sister sites (i.e. a black game title with a Exclamation icon) would probably be even more effective though as it would stand out from all the other games on a page
and maybe even a placeholder graphic too that requires a mouseover to see the actual one, i.e. "NSFW, mouseover to see sample", so I'd have to actually put effort into looking what makes it so blood or porn

like this (but imagine when you mouse over it little animae ho pops up, and a lil smaller because these would be the section icons)

It'd be cool from a design standpoint and wouldn't require us to move everything into its own segregated UGLY POOPBLOODPORNGOBLIN section

I sort of agree with everyone here in some way or another. Would be nice to show "less" for some of the icons of the more "risky" sheets/games.

I'm opposed to putting them in a unique section though, since they'd be much harder to find.

It'd be really nice if it was mentioned in what way it was NSFW though... since what is Safe for work varies from place to place... (Gore vs nudity, in some places one is okay and the other isn't)
The problem there is defining gore. Would you say Mortal Kombat is gore? And Doom? Why not some RPGs that feature blood?

I understand the purpose for nudity, but I think pixelated gore has never been an issue for anybody ever. Except in the 90s.
Yeah, I think I'll agree with this dude. I don't see any problem with making random browsing a lot more PG. If people want to see what those games hold, they'll click the icons and head on into the sheets.

Gore, on the other hand, really isn't an issue...as well as minorly NSFW stuff like some of Final Fantasy VI's infamous sprites. It's just...something in very low resolution won't really make you take out the eye bleach unless you have an overactive imagination or something.

I'd say a good idea would be to limit redoing the icons to post 32-bit stuff. Once you get into later systems like the N64 and Playstation, it becomes an issue.

This isn't sexist, its sexual. (sorry, I just hate it when people misuse words like these)

But I do agree that the icon should be changed. Its pretty much borderline NSFW and it could help if there was a filter or something.
Well, when I meant sexist I really DID mean sexist, (I know the difference) But I won't take TL;DR time to explain it. The point being I'd like a change, so far there are really good suggestions.

i'm confused i fail to see how that's gender discrimination at all

it's inappropriate or suggestive, sure, but not sexist
The icon in question has been changed, refresh to see the new one. I also picked different ones for Days of Memories 1 and 2, since they were also risqué.

i think derahex means sexist as in: we see this image, though we would probably never come across a man loli doing the same thing
are there even bishie games
