I was browsing a Pokemon forum, and this surprised the fuck out of me. Some fellow has made a program that allows you to convert Pokemon from Gen 2 into a format that is compatible with Gen 3 games and beyond. Same IVs, EVs more or less converted, etc etc. I assumed some of y'all would be interested in it too

I wasn't thinking that something like that wouldn't be possible due to the programing differences between Gen 2 and Gen 3 Pokémon, but I'm actually impressed by this prospect.

It certainly puts Bill's work to shame, doesn't it?
So now you could, in theory, get a pokemon from the original gb game, play through all of them, and end with it on your 3DS. That's. Insane.
Welp, that's going to be useful.
Gen 1 and 2 have a few moves that Pokemon can't get in later games, which could prove to be quite interesting.

Well, not really. To get your Pokemon to Gen 6, they have to pass the legality check. Since the transfer deal isn't Nintendo official and is technically hacking, the Gen 1 and 2 moves wouldn't pass the legality check.

But on the bright side, you do get to keep your buddies from RBYGSC from being erased by the hands of time (AKA the save battery running out)
If only I never restarted my Pokemon Yellow save...

Moving Pikachu, Dodrio, Weepinbell and Dugtrio to Crystal, hooking Crystal to computer, transferring the dudes to Emerald then Platinum (I don't have a GBA flash cart; only NDS) and HeartGold (Pikachu would follow me again!) before maybe sending them off to Unova. That would be so cool ;-;
