He said "this week," not "all week." It's like saying you have a doctor's appointment this week, it's not supposed to imply you're going or staying there all week.
That, and he was there for a very specific purpose, not on a vacation.

well psh idc, i would have stayed for at least an extra day just to vacation. it's not like you just roll out of bed and go to japan whenever you feel like it
oh well im dyin to find out just what this "very specific purpose" is!!
My comment and his reason for not staying will make much more sense when you do find out but I'll let him explain everything when he's back.
