trying to get better at spriting... i've been spriting and making games for 4 years and i still don't seem to get better ¬_¬
but i suppose practise makes perfect ^^

For starters, I would suggest working on the anatomy and shading. Try looking at a picture of Link as you're sketching the lineart. That should help you to get his proportions right.
