I dunno if this is the right section, but I had problem for this model, this model came from Model resource..I downloaded them last april... I completely forgot it, but now. when I tried opening to 3dsmax 2010.. it look like this... some of the models are fine but some are not..

This often happens when the obj you're trying to import isn't exported correctly.

To fix this, import it into blender and export it again to the same format, then import the newly exported file into 3dsmax.
This method also applies when you get a vertex error when importing some of the models resource files.
