Hi, this seems like a good place to get feedback on this sprite sheet.
The base sprites came from AJ Nitro, which I edited (a lot) to make Glover into a smash bros type character.
For the most part I am happy with the way things turned out, I animated it all (which you can see here: http://ssf2expansions.motionforum.net/t2...-completed ).
There are a few bits I'm not happy with though, mostly the walk and run animations/sprites. What can I do to make it more natural and fluid?
Thanks. Hope you like this sheet. You can use and abuse it as you wish.
Also, does anybody remember Glover?

At this point it's a bit hard to see how the sprites look because they're not animated. I guess my main critique would be that the shading/colors are rather bland. I know Glover is white, but adding a tiny bit of a tint to the shadow color and making it darker so it contrasts more nicely with the white would be a good idea. The black outline is also a bit ugly, but darkening up the shadows might fix that, and I know if this is meant to be used in games it might need a dark, solid outline anyways.

Can you link to AJ Nitro's original sprites? Would be good to have as a reference.
I'll link it for you. This sheet is so old. I don't even want to look at this anymore. Mine were pretty bad, but I glad you decided to turn them into something.

I animated all of it here:

Walk and run I don't like though.
I'd suggest adding more frames to the walk animation. It looks like it's be pretty choppy at present and could stand to have some "body" movement. Luckily Glover is a hand and you have two good referenced for finger movement right in front of you! Obviously Glover is a finger short of a full hand but you can still get a rough idea of how it works.

I would also recommend working on the sprite itself. Even A.J. Nitro admit that his sheet wasn't that good. I'm no spriter, but I came up with what I'd do for the sprite:

I'm not suggesting that you do what I did, but your sheet would greatly benefit from a facelift.
The idle needs to be in a fighters stance.

Since this is for SSF2, you could probably brawlify it too.

Nice sheet btw, looks like it took a long time to make~
Besides everything already said (especially about more frames in the animations of walking, stance, etc), a few more things to comment on.

When the hand makes a fist (Like for example, when it loses), it looks kind of weird. Might I suggest looking at the Master Hand Sprites for a comparison to the glove (even if it is in the original sheet).

Also, for running, instead of making it look similar to his walking why not make it run like Thing. It'll make Glover stand out.
In a run animation, at least one frame needs both feet off the ground, otherwise you'll just have a fast walk. However, you'll need additional frames to bring up the quality of that animation to begin with.

But Glover doesn't walk that way in the game. He trying to emulate how Glover moved in the game. So it actually might help to watch a lot of game footage.

True. But Smash Brothers isn't always about emulating their game, but their character. Look at the Ice Climbers and Bowser for example. While it isn't something he does in the game, you can see him do something like that since he is a magical glove. And it'll be cool looking for those not familiar with the character to play as a miniature of a Master Hand.
Well the last time I defended someone for making Geno different, I was shot down. Bah what does this community want from me?

I'm new here so I wasn't there when that happened. Or maybe there are more Geno purists than Glover ones.
The thing about Smash Bros is that they try to be true to who the character is and their respective mannerisms. With that said, I used to play Glover all the time growing up, and I don't recall him using his arm(or finger) to pick up anything. Whenever he would pick up something he would use his whole body because ... you know... his body is a hand. So I would recommend possibly doing that for the sheet. I'm not sure how that translate into using other attacks while holding a weapon, I just thought it looked awkward seeing him use his arm/finger to pick something up.
