Hmmm, I think I see what you're getting at. (In that use shadows to define folds, not hard lines.) I think I'm going to go back and study the official VS Sprites and see what I can do. For now though, I have this.

Looks somewhat stretched horizontally.
So ... I'm back. I'm gonna assume this doesn't count as a necro-post, as I have new pixel art. Namely, the most recent version of my VS Ash sprite.

he looks a little fat there. Try thinning the body a lil'
Even considering that his jacket is flaring out from his body?
I think his head is a little too wide and that's what makes him look kind of fat.
