Milkshape's TMD importer has trouble importing some TMD models I have, and TMD2LWO doesn't work at all. Are there other alternatives to opening these (and possibly keeping a possible skeleton for them?) I've looked around and can't find much.
Try to convert in another format (*obj). You can use 3ds max for it.

Well I know that, but I want to know how to convert the tmd to obj in the first place
Open 3ds max, import your model and choose file-> export and then you choose format.

um, I'm a bit confused.. Sick
a CAD program imports playstation model formats..?
@mkbewe
What Hellfire wants is a tool (or something similar) that can convert PS1 TMD models to formats that can be read by 3d model editing programs since the plugin he uses for milkshape has problems importing some of the TMD files he has.
He cannot export the TMD models as an obj if he can't even open them in the first place.
It's the TMD file he has problems with.

@hellfire
wish I could help you but i don't have any experience with ps1 models.
I'll try searching for some tools though. Maybe i might find something
I read in polish 3ds max site about convert and someone write IronCAD can import TMD and export as a 3ds (max). If I'm in mistake, sorry.

Just because it's TMD doesn't mean its the same format. I can rename a jpg file to png but it's still jpg. Extensions mean nothing
