Notice they don't have any Disney characters from when Walt Disney was alive? He'll even from the 90's (Toy Story not included)
In all honesty, I think Game Freak should do this with Pokemon.

Each pack comes with one evo family line and you can only use the currant evo one until you do eventually become strong enough.

It would print money.
Personally, I hate these concepts for two reasons: for being so prohibitively expensive, and that it didn't exist when I was a kid, I'd have eaten it up!

One thing I noticed that I'm not sure if it has any true bearing on what to expect from these... Does anyone notice that all the characters represented in that first video are all characters from 3d, live action, or stop motion media? Did they mention any from 2d animations at all?

Edit: aside from phineas and ferb?

I was counting Sparx.

Sparx, Spyro, Cynder. Is there another?

Bearing in mind that they'll "obviously never do this". After all it's not like they haven't catered to their fans before.

they'll do it sooner or later, if anything they're using their more popular franchises to promote this. (Am I seeing this as ironic that they didn't use Mickey? I know he'll be in this but still, it's Disney. Not like a two year old won't know him)

Maybe that's what they'll do if there is ever an MMO on one of nintendo's consoles in the future.

I think there was an NPC called Hunter (a familiar face if you played A Hero's Tail or Spyro 3), but he's totally different.. I think. Dunno, gonna have to play the game again to confirm this.

But yeah, this would be an expensive and risky move, like I said before. No doubt Nintendo would want to hop on the bandwagon.

Also this:

Spyro's Hunter wasn't in the game, unfortunately. I wouldn't doubt if there's a character who shares that name, though.

Normally I'd object but since it's the reboot version of Spyro that appeared in Skylanders, which I will admit I dislike (why'd they make him so ugly aaaa), and I also haven't played the Legend of Spyro series, I guess I'll agree.

On the subject of this game, if it weren't for having to buy extra characters, this would be a really cool idea.
Also I too hope Phineas & Ferb are in it. o/

The trailer showed Perry, so it's very likely.

You can see Phineas in this group shot here.
First: Yay Jack.
Second: Erm... where's you know, all the classic Disney characters? 90% of this is Pixar? I want Baloo, Tom O'Mally, Honest John, Dumbo etc etc...
Also, who doesn't remember Disney's last attempt at this sort of thing?

That being Disney Universe.
Aside from the Toy Story characters... I don't really care for any of those guys.
What I find unfair is that some of them show practically the entire cast of their movie(s), while others only have one or two characters. For example The Incredibles have pretty much everyone except for background characters (and Jack Jack), and while Pirates of the Carribean has a lot of main characters anyway, they choose to include Tia Dalma but not Will or Elizabeth?
But, Monsters Inc. only has Mike and Sulley (who looks pretty flat by the way), and then you've got Jack Skellington all on his own?

That said this could just be a taster with some of the characters that are "complete" or whatever and they may have more characters in the actual game. In any case the only franchises I don't like seeing here are Cars and Phineas & Ferb. I mean the show's pretty good but honestly Phineas just looks weird in 3D.
It seems wierd putting non-movie characters in there anyway. If any Disney TV stars should be in the it's Darkwing Duck and other Disney Afternoon stars!
