iOS is a closed system in its entirety which puts it at an inherent disadvantage unless Apple specifically wades into something, itself.

I have never tried a system running Android on the other hand so I can't really say anything for or against it.

Yeah, having native support for... one button only and being locked into apple's closed ecosystem if you don't jailbreak are certainly better. Having a device that gives you no actual control over said device is great.

Android is completely open.
There is seriously no debate.

And ironically no one knows what they're really doing with it to show that potential.

Except the people who made Ouya.
Exactly. We're told Android is completely open, it can do anything yadda yadda - yet every single thing I've used which has Android on it has done nothing to surpass what iOS is doing and things on iOS normally always run better and faster.

Android should be better - but all it's done so far is act as a cheaper version of what Apple is doing. Apple pisses me off (I hate paying for a logo) but at the same time apart from a lower price point Android has done nothing to impress me. I have no doubt that Android has the potential to really do something great, but apart from a lot of promises I've yet to see it do anything to really generate the kind of excitement people are giving it, and thus so far all these Android projects seem more like people 'sticking it to the man' rather than making something awesome.

It's like being before an Orchestra and doing nothing but making the man on the triangle ting out twinkle twinkle little star.
