You are excellent!
you have great taste in colors and style, and for a "beginning spriter" you are already really good. Just focus on using the least amount of colors, like if you can use the same color in other parts the sprite, do it.

I hope you dont mind my edit, its merely a suggestion. You are really talented and I think you could be really great spriter if you keep going.

Yeah, learning to restrain myself with colors might be a difficult task. I come from more of painting and drawing background where I'm just used to going all out. I know conceptually it's important for pixel art and I tried holding back on those sprites but somehow it just got out of hand in the end. It might take me a bit of work to learn how to not go crazy with colors.
a good tip is to make a palette while you work on the sprite, this way you can keep track of the colors you've used and help reducing the number of redundant shades.

That makes so much sense. I have no idea why I never did that before.
