Playable Wario that plays like Wario Land. He should be the new Luigi (in addition to Luigi, of course).
Wishful thinking, but whatever. By the way, all that gold sure fits the obese anti-hero.

But then Wario would have to fart from what Shigeru Myamoto said.

Yeah, I know. Why add a variation in gameplay for each character if you can simply clone them?
Is it weird to add a character with a different playstyle? Sonic 2, 3 and Knuckles did it.
I know that what Miyamoto said about 'all characters being equal' was to give the 4 simultanious players no advantages nor disadvantages over eachother. Peach and Wario's build simply couldn't replicate Mario's.
What I'm saying is that Nintendo actually should add Wario or someone else with a different playstyle. If you have cleared the game as Mario, you might want to play the game as Wario from start to finish, because you'd take routes more suitable or exclusive for Wario, thus going through the game differently. That's what motivated me to play Sonic 3 & Knuckles from the beginning at least 3 times, once per character.
you do realize I was sort of joking in that post right?

anyways far as I care I wish wario was in more mario canon games for all the reasons you stated that and honestly, I'd like to see how well wario can do with some old school mario items now that we've seen what wario can do with power ups in the wario land series.

I did. The cursive was a hint. I just wanted to say what I just said based on said joke referring to Miyamoto's 'excuse'.
Yeah sometimes I'm very annoyed by how much say Miyamoto has. I know it's his series but... sometimes I feel he's the one holding it back from doing great new things.

But Koopaul, the originator always knows best.

Oh my God, what the hell have you done with Koopaul?!

heh, you're one to talk c:
It would be nice to see Waluigi in the classic styled games. He was fun to play with in the Mario Party series.
Waluigi pretty much is Wario's answer to Mario's Luigi in terms of sports partner.
I do wish to see him in a main game for once. Maybe as a boss.
Honestly, it'd be more of a fan service thing if they put waluigi in the main games.

Although I do admit it would be interesting if they did.
Maybe it's just me, but I feel it would only be fanservice the first time. You do it enough and it becomes a regular thing.

Either way, I'd personally rather have Waluigi get his own game. Maybe a stealth platformer of sorts, like Wario Land but with sneaking sections (of course this would use powerups and what not to make sneaking a lot more fun).
And here we are brainstorming fun ideas. I wish Nintendo would take more chances like they did in the past. The lack of new IPs this generation tells a lot about that.
just to add content to this discussion, I've been playing New Super Mario Bros this weekend, and I really enjoyed the game.

I can totally scratch the 'lack of variation' argument, at least on my side, because the levels are diverse and I think it built a lot over the original game (SMB and SMB3, mainly). The level's quirks, the moving platforms, springy mushrooms and other abilities all take advantage on the DS' power and makes the game feel overall fresh to me.

Of course it isn't as good as SMW, and it could have a better excuse of a story than 'Bowser Jr. is dragging Peach for 8 whole worlds' but I thought I could rectify my argument I made earlier in this thread.

Finally, I only played the first game. Having a Wii version of the game AND this can indeed feel repetitive, but I'll wait until more content from this game is revealed.
Know what I've always wanted to see? Crossovers between regular Mario and Mario RPG content. Imagine you finish the game, beat Bowser and suddenly BOOM!, Smithy's Gang shows up and the game keeps going for a few more worlds. The main reason I'd love to see this is seeing those kinds of enemies in an action-based context rather than a turned-based RPG context.

Bad example though, because I doubt we'll ever see anything from the original Super Mario RPG universe ever again in an official Nintendo title.
Speaking of which I really wish Nintendo would just buy the rights to Geno already.
