Guess I'll need to mention this now before it's too late. My state is under fire by Hurricane Gustav. It's expected to hit Monday morning. So barring any last minute deviations from the path by the hurricane, I'll probably be out until the storm is over. Three years ago I lucked out with Katrina and Rita when they swerved from my house at the last minute.

Like all hurricanes, there's no telling what Gustav will do. It could miss me altogether, brush by, or hit head-on.
I'm really starting to wonder why anybody still lives there, putting up with that every year. I mean, yeah I understand it's your home and you love it, but year after year of the place getting blown down by hurricanes, ya gotta wonder if it's financially viable anymore, if not emotionally wise to live in a place seasonally demolished.

Then again, up here with the maple trees, I could care less about hurricanes and what they do.

Just be safe, and hopefully we'll see you again sometime next week.

You too, huh? I'm evacuating as well, go figure. Anyway, good luck, and return safe. Smile
I'm back from Gustav. It did minor damage to my place and knocked out power for a good week. I just got power last night.
Yeah, just better hope those other 3 hurricanes in the atlantic don't hit you guys.

I'm glad that you're ok!!! I live near where hanna hit but I'm fine. I just hope everything stays the way it is down because of Ike.
Glad you're alright, Ngamer. Welcome back.
do you live near any of the levees?

Hanna has come and gone, I'm watching Ike closely, and Josephine dissipated over in the Atlantic.

Thanks.

No. I don't live by any bodies of water.

Anyways I hated this with Gustav: after it blew through last Monday it just lounged around the state for two days spinning up twisters further damaging electric grids in the area. That's why I had a week without power.
We're all glad you're ok. We also hope for the best from Ike.

Good to hear you're Ok. I'd start repacking though, if I were you, because they're expecting Ike to hit in our area (we live in the same area, go figure). Good luck.
hopefully Ike won't gain strengh over in the gulf Sad I also hope the levves hold just as good this time around.....we shall see.
If it's anything like Fire Emblem Ike then you have something to be worried about!
But seriously glad you're okay.
I just saw the new map and it's showing Ike going more to mid texes now Smile.
