So OK I ripped some sounds from a nds game and they are in wav format and Windows Media Player will only play a few of them. Every other software I have that plays sound can play them though (even one that plays sound through media player) It may just be mine though

Could I still submit the sounds?

The only other option is to convert them to mp3 but then they actually lose some quality.
There's probably something wrong with your windows media player.
If it runs in any other program the sounds themselves should be just fine.

WAV format would be better to submit it in if it keeps the original sound quality
intact.
Always keep the sounds in .WAV when you find them.
And he's right, it's prob. WMP. I'm always able to listen to SFX I rip in Winamp, so I'm pretty certain it's your player.
One last thing, I'm sure you may know this, but try and make sure that there are no instrument samples mixed in your submissions since they aren't accepted (I know it's hard to tell most of the time >_>).
Good luck and I look forward to uploading your sounds!
I mostly just want to rip voices and sound effects so I don't think I'll have any instrument samples.

Oh and I think I know why WMP won't play them.
It only plays sounds that have a filesize greater than 70kb.
WMP struggled with short sounds too - if it's less than a second, it tends to skip it. I noticed it with certain tracks before.
I think it tries to load it, skips the first few milliseconds, and the last few milliseconds. So with a sound effect which has literally no "padding" around it, it'll skip parts of the actual sound - probably all of it.

KMPlayer and VLC work a treat for testing sounds.
