Haha! nah dude. I can't do that. I cannot be responsible for making a skateboarding shade-wearing super 90s character.
Enki's new melee animation. All three strikes strung together.

whatcha think?
i kinda like the afterimage stuff you've got going on here

the first punch could use a little more buildup though

The first one is just a quick jab. I didn't want to make it look as strong as the other two swings. But I can understand what you mean.
I'm not too familiar with hypercam. I did several google searches to get the recording to function properly to no avail.

Anyway, I took the sprites I made with the coaching you guys gave me. I think it turned out ok. Again, please forgive the crap recording.
OH, that is awesome!Big Grin
With a bit of brainstorming, these sprites are going to be used for a game. The name has not been decided yet. Though would I start a new thread in Game Design, or would this be moved there?
I was doing some sketching of characters recently. I normally don't work in colored pencil. I know this isn't exactly where the art would go normally, but the concept for the character and his rival "Gil" are what I'm sort of using for the guidlines on the sprites.

I wasn't aware of this thread. Thanks for the link Shade. I'll check it out.
I, for one, love this little green guy. The after-effect thingy works pretty well when put in practice and I love the concept art. Is that a Mario All-Stars background you got on that video there?
There is one thing I wanted to point out on your "Gil" character(the sprite, not the picture Tongue) There needs to be more distinctive differences. Maybe droopier ears, eyes spread more, something that really sets him apart from the other guy. Having different colored clothes is a good start though! Smile

Yes it is. Surprise How the hell? Wow dude, you got a serious eye for that. Kudos

Actually, aside from being taller and more muscular, Has a very distinctly different nose. Enki actually has a very odd nose, that starts at his brow, and is level with it until the end of his nose. It contours with the curve of his head. The goatee, posture, attitude, and size reflect great differences in them (or so I thought) Also, Gil's ears actually point up as opposed to drooping, like Enki's. It's just the angle of his head, the chin slightly raised. Umm... let me find the sprites, unless I already posted them.
I suggest stopping using selout in the whole pieces. It's too distracting and ugly, and the shading is all over the place.
