Just finished my review of RAGE, the new FPS from id.
Really fucking good.

You guys getting it/got it?
The advert looks cool as hell. I heard the online is kinda broken though.
It's not too bad, not too great. It's got a cool idea of doing missions that relate to the characters in the game, co-op style.
I've been hearing a lot of disappointment about the game for some reason, but my brother's still hyped as hell for it (since it never shipped for him yet for some reason)

good to know that it's a brilliant game!
I dropped my preorder for Rage and am now getting BF3, the closer it got to date, the more it just didn't look that fun to me. And I've been hearing a ton of disappointment so I'm not really regretting my decision. It feels just like when Brink came out, there was a ton of hype for it, but it didn't live up to any of the hype, except for graphics.
I feel like it is worth the wait. The game is linear in exploration, but the game isn't fallout.
I thought it was going to be incredibly shit. No lie. It looked generic and a rip off of loads of other games.
I had been looking at it, but I couldn't help being disappointed at Doom 3. Rage's pace is significantly quicker, I hope? I liked Doom 3 when it opened up into larger fights with a bunch of enemies, there just wasn't enough of that to justify the fact that the rest of the game was about as fun as a pop-up book. If Rage is all about those nifty gunfights, I'm in.

But I honestly haven't been paying attention to it for months.
And it's coming out 11 days after Skyrim, fuck me. Social life's gonna get shanked.
I disliked Doom 3 as well. Rage does have your obvious "trigger switch goes off when I pick up this item" which is noticeable, but the actual mechanics are still fun. And I love shotguns.

I also disliked that in Doom the game was apparently stunning visually, but you couldn't see any of it. This game has great lighting effects that bring stuff to life, too.
The crossbow looks like a bunch of a lot of fun.

Regenerating health is laem, though.

As for Doom 3, my primary problem was that it only liked throwing a few enemies at you at a time. How many solitary imps did I kill in Doom? A few. How many solitary imps did I kill in Doom 3? HAHA.

The fight where you got introduced to the Mancubus was the best part of that entire game, period.
My most bad experience was to play doom including all the versions i checked out one after each but all are messed up
and just are wastage of time.
I first came into this thread expecting a topic about rage quitting.
this game looks a lot like borderlands from the commercial.
I watched it on the Yogscast and I didn't think it looked all that fun. You have to shoot the enemies like 50 times even if you get headshots and that's just irritating.
That's also not true... If you actually GET a headshot, it's a one-shot kill. If you just think you did, then it isn't. A lot of people who play games and say that headshots are buggy tend to be people who never get them and then get pissed off about it.
