Quote:Gamespot were in attendance at a Sony Computer Entertainment conference in Tokyo, where Level 5 president, Akihiro Hino, reportedly announced an English release for the PlayStation 3 version of Ni no Kuni, an RPG developed in collaboration with the famed Studio Ghibli.

Also, says it's scheduled for early 2012, which is pretty soon considering it's releasing in Japan in November 2011!
OMG YES YES FUCK YES
Freaking rad! I was getting worried it wasn't going to see the states! Awesome, I am hyped.

But... no word on an English DS release? The one including the fancy spell book?

(skip to about 3: 35 for the book)
Ni No what?

Oh the ghibli game. What kind of RPG is it?
a good one™
Looks boring and ugly... To be totally honest.
I've never liked Ghibli's artwork. I always felt like it looked rushed, and pretty unpolished.

It's almost like they decided to take the concept of making a game look good, and only use that to publicise a game... Nothing else. Which means people will think it's a great game for 20 minutes, and then hate it because they aren't going to be concentrating on the actual gameplay.

This is just my early thought, though. I'll be happy to be proven wrong and enjoy the gameplay, but... I'll still think it looks ugly.
also

We're getting PS3 version because PS3 has no gaems, while DS has too many gaems(And is dying anyway due to 3DS becoming less sucky every passing day)
how do we ban dazz
Let's be honest guys... All screenshots and videos demonstrate minimal animation skill. The character expressions are bland, and character design is below average. The only screenshots that show anything close to good are drawn by hand and are cutscenes, which even then are just standard Ghibli artwork.

The best graphical aspect of this game is the environments, which are ruined by having pretty nasty models placed on top of it...
it wont let me hit the report button

edit: ok its working now
I should warn you for misuse of the report system.
stop being stupid.

Dazz, you've Played Dark Chronicle, have you? The same people who made that also made this game. It is safe to say that this game will be amazing as fuck because Level-5 has yet to produce a terrible game.
I'm not saying minimalism is bad - I'm saying that it looks very uninspired. It doesn't appeal to me. Sorry. I've let you all down due to personal taste, yet again.

Also, I loved Dark Chronicle due to the story, and gameplay. It looks nice, but that doesn't mean anything to me ultimately when it comes to a game - to a degree, at least. If it looks like adom, I struggle.
If the game has a good story, which based on all of Ghibli's film it it probably won't, and plays well, I will enjoy it.
I just fail to understand why people are psyched to play a game based on it's graphics, when you can just look at videos and see said graphics... It almost just seems like an art project in the wrong medium.
