By "only work on the Wii" do you mean motion sensing in general that can't be emulated by controllers or things that would literally only work on the Wii, and not with the Kinect or PSMove?

Of all people, how do you not find the Wii fun?

Oh yeah, if you like...play the same 10 games all the time. Why are you guys so surprised when I whip down Nintendo? Just because I like Mario and the like, doesn't mean I can't have different opinions about the company itself right now.

Though, I do like the little controller connecting adventures we have. =P

Iceman>Okay guys, connect
-commence connecting beeps-
Friend 1>Hey I wanna be player 2
Friend 3>Fine you big baby, let's reconnect in order again
-commence connecting beeps-
Friend 1>Wait! My controller's still turning off
Friend 2>Hey my batteries just died.
-commence connecting beeps-
All>UGH
Friend 2>Damn, you be doin' the most...
Iceman>Does the order really matter?
Friend 1>In some games, yeah.
Friend 3>Ahem!
-commence connecting beeps-
Iceman> Oh damn! We got it right now!
-Iceman accidentally presses reconnect-

-Later on the phone-

Iceman>Hey, wanna trade friend codes?
Friend 4>Okay!
-a little while later-
Iceman>Okay mine is 1049--
Friend 4>Wait, I need a pen!
Iceman404>Okay, okay...
Friend 4>...1045--
Iceman>No! Nine as in "nocturnal"! You know..."NNnnnnnnnnniiinnnnneeee"
Friend 4> Ohhh!...45--
-after finally putting in all the code-
Iceman> Okay, we done?
Friend 4> Yep. Put it in the Wii menu.
Iceman>No not the Wii menu! Brawl's online menu!
Friend 4>Oh, can we finish this late-
Iceman>NO!

Metroid Prime games benefited from the Wii.

One thing I like about the Wii controller is that it's a lot simpler than the 360/PS3 controllers. I don't think more buttons benefit anyone. The Wii Remote is very comfortable.

I must admit I also enjoy hearing sound effects coming from the controller too.

But yes most motion use is entirely unnecessary. Donkey Kong Country Returns one flaw was the use of that. But it made up for that by being one of the greatest Wii games. Seriously, play it if you haven't!
imo unless you have a nuanced system built around the motion control, the motion control should be used as an extra button. it worked well in mario galaxy, and it was basically a spin button.

that would be such a great, great great idea.

Metroid prime would of been better on PS3 or 360.
If motion controls are your thing then what about Move?
Having too many buttons isn't a valid argument because you don't have to use them, and Kinect has no buttons at all.

I can't argue with the fact the wiimote does have a speaker. But it's quiet. Has terrible sound quality. And wastes battery.

The only time i've seen that speaker be put to good use is in NMH.
In Twilight Princess it sounded goddamn terrible.

If they're ten good games, I don't know what your problem is.

And ten good Wii games is an easy list when there's so many.
anyone who seriously still thinks any of the current gen consoles are shitty is just being a jackass. they all have solid libraries and different strengths.

So what your saying is that the xbox 360 and PS3 has way too many buttons, despite the fact a majority of nintendo consoles have the same amount of buttons since the SNES era.

Not to shit on this opinion entirely, however I think your making it sound like that the usual 14 buttons on a controller are by far complex as hell.
It would be nice if they actually had a decent hard drive size for the Wii and have a gamecube virtual console.

But knowing Nintendo, they'll give it two gig max.

i think that is basically exactly what he is saying. most games could easily do with fewer than 14 buttons, and only make use of all of them because having unused buttons seems lazy or something

I don't feel like the consoles themsels are shitty, and I know there's an enormous number of good games made for the current generation, but I feel like there's something being lost between this generation and the ones that came before it.

Are you referring to how most games nowdays are just the same style or whatever with the whole ALL GAMES TRY TO LOOK LIKE REALISM and etc.?

I think that's the point Kriven is trying to make, but I'm just guessing.

I think that's part of it.

But there's also just this element missing. For the past couple of months I thought I was growing out of gaming. No game seemed to hold my attention. Popped a couple of GameCube games into the Wii, and played right through. It was weird.
you're growing up. it happens.
