I'm looking for something very particular. In SNES/Genesis games, enemies with tentacles would often use segmented parts to make it look like they are bending/coiling. For the life of me I can't think of any offhand. Can someone help me find one? I need it as a reference.

Example:

Not really tentacles, but the same segmentation:

eh forget this post, I read it wrong lol
The only one I can think of right now is the Sonic 2 Oil Ocean boss: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ydf-iPRwGg

Its not really tentacles, but they move that way. There are a few other things like that in the series I think, but most of them were done in pretty much the same way as that.
maybe scribblenauts?
Not Snes or Genesis, but there's this.

Streets of Rage 2 Stage 3 boss thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSuIJv_HlDE

I'm not sure it's really a tentacle monster thing but it uses segmentation and stuff. Someone really ought to rip the sprites for that boss on here.
Ah just remembered, Ridley from Metroid always has a segmented tail although I'm not sure that completely works with what you need: http://www.spriters-resource.com/gameboy...heet/16350
The second boss from Super Adventure Island could work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IOsVhAgwOw

And you could try looking up any of the Darius bosses based on a octopus or squid.
maybe the tail of snake jafar from the snes version of aladdin : http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/aladdin/sheet/41
or this boss from the little mermaid : http://www.spriters-resource.com/genesis...heet/29163
