sure thing.

we are no mindless monsters, we're humans like anyone else here and like real friends, we don't want you to make mistakes. This is why we're quick and direct to the point.

I hope to see more from you.
Alright then! Here three mugshots I made for a Rockman hack, which work in the emulator without any problems.

I have some odd feelings about the SOUND ONLY, though.
Are you sure the second works? There's five colours on some of the 8x8 tiles... so you'd at least need to do a sprite/tile layering trick.

The first one's right eye (our right) and the girl's whole face (and especially the mouth) seem to be slightly too far on the left. What one can see of her body / neck looks weird, I can't make out what it is. The first one's hair may be somewhat overshaded at the top, you should at least break up that straight line directly at the border. Besides that they look quite solid to me.

I can assure, this worked in the ROM. Originally she only had 3+1 colours, but my buddy wanted to have her with more colours so I tried to fit in more.
You can take a look here in the process of her and my other works making.

Also my thanks for you pointing out a flaw I and the others haven't seen now.

Edit: Thank you Previous, for your help.

I can not* tell what's going on here. Your post is so unorganized. Are these a bunch of edits of Megaman sprites?
How is it unorganized...? Are you talking about his first post? That's really old. You should probably just look at these new ones, which are for a hack like he said, and I'm pretty sure they're full custom

The mouths seem a bit harsh. Maybe there's some way you can apply sel-out to make them blend in a bit more? I'm not sure.

The blue shading on Dr. Light is too extreme. When you have that much contrast it sort of looks less like shading, i.e. reaction to light and lack thereof, and more like painted stripes. I'm assuming part of the reason might be so that his eyes are readable, but a mix of black with a lighter color in certain ways can still get you good eyes. They might mess up the style or something though. I dunno, play with it I guess...!

Looking at it again, it seems like Dr. Light displays a notion of "if there are outlines, I must shade against them." I think I used to do that same kind of thing. The teeny pixel clusters of shading around the lines in the hair are making things look messy and cluttered rather than adding anything. I'm talking about parts like the two lines in the front and the two lines above his ear. I suggest removing the shading around those lines, and if it looks too barren or not smooth enough, then just add 1 pixel tips of the darker shade on the ends of those lines. It's kinda hard to explain with words so if you don't get what I'm talking about I could just show you.

Except for the refined edits. But they are justified, because the sprites are kept in the very same size so there won't be any conflict by inserting them into the ROM.

Do you mean the sprites of the Megaman X1 X spritesheet? I already tried a darker brown for the mouth, which wasn't pleasant looking for me. I think this is just personal preference. It is just one black pixel.

Why not? If I am shown examples or viewpoints of others I can learn more. Trial and error can only get you this far. Sometimes you have to compare your work with your fellow colleaguess, so you can get a better view and understanding of the art.
For now I removed the unnecessary shading, with a few exceptions. Like the shadow thrown by the nose and inside the beard.

For the picture, I used as help offical artwork to find a ideal expression for the Doctor. My choice was this artwork:
Dr.Light (Megaman X8)

Edit: I hope you get the time to review my Dr.Light mugshot and the refined MegaManX series X sprites. I want to see if there is anything what I could do better.
Edit2: Changed the Dr. Light picture based on Previous' advice. I still need green light from you guys, as I want it to have it perfectly, before it goes into the ROM.
I have made now some changes.

I feel unsure about them though.

There is something, which just doesn't feel right. I cannot pinpoint the flaw for some strange reason.
Maybe you should shade it like the artwork, all the points and stuff.
well you still need to shade the nose as I said.
it may also look better if you make the shading on the beard look more poofy as to add more depth.
That blue used to shade Dr. Light is so dramatic. Use a the lighter blue or just go use one of the grays.
I suggested him to go lighter in the first place (he orignally had teal), Tongue if he goes any lighter you won't be able to see it.
Mega Man mugshots usually shade white with blue of that shade anyways, I think. it also looks good imo, I forgot to mention.
I have been working with my colleaguess on Sprite.INC together, to get something useful out of it. Their help and your advice made this possible.

Thank you.^^
yes! *thumbs up* a thousand times better. I have nothing more to comment on at this time. Big Grin
6 colors? I understand the whole layering thing for sprites but...His eyes are too bright compared to the portrait as a whole and there is two extra shade of blue in the eyes that are barely noticeable.

Also the hair/beard doesn't give me that NES feel Blank, just a casual opinion.
