NINTENDO CONFERMED A SPLIT IN THE TIMELINE!!! God, how many times do I have to repeat myself? I'm starting to think that you just want to argue!
Yeah when GameTrailers did the retrospective they had quotes from Nintendo folk which did state that there were two endings at the end of Ocarina.
While we're on the subject of timelines
what game do you think mario killed bowser first????
Mario isn't as story based as Zelda. I doubt there is ANY storyline connecting all Mario games.
Wait Mario has no connection but Zelda does? How does that work? Mario connects better then Zelda does.

And I DO NOT CARE what Nintendo says. Nintendo UK said that Metroid 3 (Super Metroid) was just a remake of the NES one with new graphics and it wasn't in there Metroid time-line at all. Nintendo knows shit.
I meant there is little hints to what Mario game follows with Mario game - I doubt there is actually a sequence to which game happens where. For example Mario Sunshine takes place having Mario relaxing, but what after? We just assume it will be Mario 64, being the previous main title.
I always assumed that this was the sequence: OoT, WW, TP.
Everything else was just there o.O

Look, i apreciate your enthusiasm, but lets stick to LOZ timelines, O.K.?
I think the timeline goes like this:
First, Ocarina of Time, in which Link first fights Ganon. Then it splits into two other timelines:
1)
Adult Link. The gods flood Hyrule. Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass occur.
2)
Young Link. He rides off with Epona to search for Navi. His horse bucks in the woods when some fairies fly by, and Link falls off and hits his head on a rock, passing out. He has a Wizard of Oz style dream of Majora's Mask, which explains the reuse of character models from Ocarina of Time (a la the scarecrow, tin man, and lion) He wakes up and finds himself horseless, as Epona has run away. He leaves the forest and wanders around. During this period he finds himself in the places where the Oracle series takes place. Then he goes sailing off the coast, and gets shipwrecked in a storm, having the dream from Link's Awakening.
I believe that A Link to the Past, Twilight Princess, and the original Legend of Zelda are all just dramatic retellings by Hyrulians of the story of Ocarina of Time. They don't include the time travel part because the Hyrulians don't know about that, and why would they? I'm neglecting Minish Cap and Four Swords and all that, but they probably can fit in before Ocarina of Time. I think Miyamoto once said that Minish Cap took place before any other game.

Nintendo UK and Nintendo of America are bullshit companies that have no authority/ know nothing on these things. I trust what Miyamoto/ Aonuma says because they MADE the damn games.

This is the same reason why I don't believe Mario was ever from Brooklyn because that was coined up by Nintendo of America and never stated by Miyamoto himself.
But Shigsy has been known to change the "timeline" from time to time. I mean he says Link to the Past is the first game. There is NO way that is the first game.
Perhaps when he originally made it, it WAS the first game, not knowing he was going to make more that take place further back in time.

Or maybe its the first game of the 2D Zelda games and the 3D ones are a seperate series. Both are possible and make sense.
Goemar's right, but I'm going to take it even further.

Miyamoto the man himself? I doubt him.

There is no time line, and even if he made one, I wouldn't believe it because the one Gametrailers out of all the shit people come up with THAT timeline made the MOST sense to me. Yes I know AVGN made a better one, I don't care. Minish Cap being the earliest game makes sense, because it coins Links beginning with Zelda. They were friends and always have been Link got the hat garbed in green that marks him for being 'that' boy hero.

As for Moblins, I don't care because I could easily just say the moblins themselves see Ganon as the moblin king because he's already the...thief king? Aren't moblins already coined as thieves and marauders? Well then it fits they say he's a son of the king of moblins who are all born in his image, which wouldn't be wrong.

End note. There is no timeline

Isn't it obvious that Minish Cap does not connect with any other Zelda game than the Four Sword series? Isn't it possible that there are separate Zelda stories going on?

The fact is Miyamoto the CREATOR said there was a timeline. Probably not one solid timeline. But many.

Either way denying a timeline is like denying that Majora's Mask takes place after OoT. That Phantom Hourglass had nothing to do with the Wind Waker, that Zelda II was not a sequel. Is that what you're saying?
