I'm petty sure it uses too many colors in it's individual 8x8 tiles to be eight bit (but that's just at first glance).

It still looks pretty good regardless, but I would remove the shading on the hands, and reshape them a bit. They look kinda dirty and misshapen.

About the 8x8 tile thing: Couldn't I simply say I pulled a Mega Man thing and used "layers"? I probably shouldn't, but I've been spriting in the Mega Man 8-bit style for just a little too long, and now every time I go to make something in 8-bit I Mega Man it.
I could probably reduce the entire color level to strictly 3 plus transparency, but frankly I think it looks good as it does now.

About the hands: I removed the shading, but I'm not sure exactly what you mean by reshaping the hands. Would you please elaborate?

Too much AA on the bat, like on its right wing and its eyelids. The Tsutarja is not quite there, I'd suggest you move the back of his head downwards, you haven't captured its snootiness. Keep up the good work!

marginally. look at a tsutarja artwork and compare your work to it. your observation seems lacking for now, but i hope you prove me otherwise!
