because 99.99% of them suck complete ass
neorice's is one of the 5 sprite comics on the entire internet that don't suck
calling it a different name won't change that

think Squidi (did A Modest Destiny ages back) was the first person to actually really demand for it to be called a PixelArt Comic rather than a sprite comic, as he refused to be associated in name to stuff like megaman sprite comics.
Personally I honestly don't care, both of them apply more or less depending on what page you're talking about, as long as people I realise I do the art myself it's fine.
The only reason people generally
refrain from calling it a sprite comic is to avoid alienating new readers based on the name alone, after all, when people see "sprite comic" their initial reaction won't be "that'll have good quality original art".

I normally don't read lengthy webcomics and I was a little skeptical that a sprite comic could be as good as everyone says, but I was actually very impressed! I read the whole thing in a sitting, great stuff!
