Yes, but finding the time to finish your work is also a big part of this, and one of their qualities.

how is having more excess time than others a quality that makes them better

just wondering

(not saying anything about bab or neorice, you both are great just saying thats not a valid point)
Note that I put FINDING the time. I know nothing of how much excess time anyone had, nor what they do for a living, for that matter.
I'm just stating that everyone who was there to even enter TUGS, had at least a LITTLE free time they could use for the best.
Then again, motivation and determination are yet other important issues.
I'm pretty sure me and Neorice just do freelance art for the highest bidder. Could be wrong though.

No; but it would be foolish of you to enter into something with rigid deadlines if you're not prepared to be as least /somewhat/ organised and allot some time to complete it. Of course sometimes schedules don't go to plan and you have to make do - but you're not going to solve that by not attempting to get organised at all.

I intentionally made sure I finished my entry before Friday because not only would that give me time to make drastic last-minute changes if I really needed to; but because I knew I'd be away from computers after that point.

Then again this is all really pretty obvious and I'm sure you know about time management. I'd be somewhat dissapointed in you if you were implying "oh but it would be able to do so much if in had more free tiiiiiiiiiime"
true true true but

im just saying between school jobs and homework which i know we /ALL/ have, finding time shouldn't be considered a skill

and @groovey: to be fair i didn't even finish my prelim entry .. lol
I just started on my entry immediately after the topic was announced.
