make the head bigger. Simple as that.

Small sprites obviously can't be anatomically correct because you need to give the correct information to the viewer. So, it's not wrong to make the head a little more bigger to fit his facial features. It's all about readability.

And talking about that, what's that huge black blot below his right armpit? You might want to remove that
avoid black outlines for the time being.

That supossed to be a armless jacket.
I thought on making the head bigger at first, but I thouh it will look weird. Anyway.

Also, I tried to, as masterofdioga told me, fix the problem of the style on the first sprite, and now it looks way better.

see? you're getting there!
I gotta say, that you guys are giving criticism pretty badly here.

Actually make suggestions, rather than saying "IT'S SHIT BECAUSE PAUL ROBERTSON IS SHIT" - that doesn't help him improve something that he's attempting. Get off your high horses, you assholes, and give some actual comments about HIS work, not Robertson's. Yes, you don't like that style - but it's not terrible.
Give the guy a break, seriously.

Your change to style is quite nice, but his left arm (our right) is sticking out a bit too much, like you want us to know that it's there for a reason. On top of that, why are you always drawing people looking up?
You can still see the inspiration, but that's nothing to be ashamed of at all.

The size of his right thigh is also rather tiny compared to the rest of him - I understand there's a pouch on it, but seriously, that looks uncomfortable.

That second sprite though is... Well, not great.
You've got a good shading skill on your though for the style, and I like that. Just try working on the rest.
Thanks. I see what you are saying about the thigh. I'll work on it. The arm problem could be fixed by just moving it a pixel to the left.
And, really the big one looks worse than the smaller one? I liked it more, it just looks like more vivid. Any idea of how to improve it?
the problem is that you antialiase too much when it's not needed

take a look at this to see what I mean (my edit on the right)

Yeah, that one of my problem, I always worry too much about shading, and end using a lot of AA.
I'll work on it and show you how it comes out later.
By the way, if someone know a good tutorial about walking cycles, or any trick about it, it should be grat if you show it to me, because is one of my main problems when animating.
Yeah, I would lay off the use of black. It's a very strong color that can destroy unity in a sprite and create readability problems. It only works on Robertson's sprites because they're used for light outlining and even then, it pops out a lot in his work.
As for a walking sprite, it usually helps me to block out the limbs to different colors like green for the arms, red for the body, and blue for the legs. I think the key to a good walking sprite would be lots of bounce. Hair, clothes, everything, to give it a fun mood to fit with your cartoonish sprite. So just accent the shirt and hair to lift up after the contact frame when sprite's legs make contact with the floor.

What Is Tact???????????
-everyone on TSR(me), 2010
also, if thernz didn't help enough there's tons of tutorials on pixeljoint and pixelation for various animations

Better, but i'm going to be honest and say you should probably apply goral's critiscism to that sprite before doing anything else.

this is what paul's style should have been, too.

EDIT: you probably should fix the right (OUR LEFT) arm, it seems pretty wonky compared to the other one you made.

How has everyone not been giving decent critiscism for the past posts before you came? I am curious to how that is, unless you were only reading 1up's posts.
I saw Gorsal's edit nad the first thign i noticed that it had that yorus didnt was a neck, and that made your sprite kinda senseless, and that not muhc of a good thing, also, if you dont want to show a neck, do what Gorsal did, that way you can at least show more of the skin, and lees of the clothes and line art.
Gorsal was the only one who gave him any real advice on how to fix his sprite (because telling someone that what they are trying to sprite is awful without saying why is not really constructive criticism - which is the kind that should be dealt when trying to help someone improve!).

I'd look at Gorsal's edit and MOD's previous post to know why you should avoid spriting like Paul.

EDIT: Oh, and Thernz's post is helpful too read over that

You should have added frario to that list since he suggeusted animating it, which is really the only plus in Paul Robertson's work.

the only person who didn't really give critiscism was 1up, but that's not really surprising since he hates paul.

I liked Gors one, as you can see. However, the black outlines didn't seems fitting for me, so, from now and on, only black outlines in black things.
